This needs to be extrapolated back to at least 1968.
That way we can truly expose the conspiracy the Saints have tried to keep hidden for almost 50 years about not drafting LSU players.
You work on that, and I will call espn to start setting up the production on a 30 for 30.
Enough is enough!

This is the one that is really stupid.
He coulda been had for cheap.

some of you guys need to get it through your head that there had to be some collusion going on...why else would NO team (even bad ones like Jacksonville who needed talent) even toss a late rounder?
A OT who had some questionable "issues" because Nkemdiche ratted him out and a REALLY dumb video that surfaced right before the draft was taken 13th overall.
A LB who just tore his ACL/MCL and had nerve damage which may never recover just went in the 2nd round
Another LB who has meniscus damage and a time bomb knee also went in the 2nd round
nobody drafted Collins, not a single team AT all. Even when he wasn't wanted, indicted, or anything of that sort.

Yes, I think we agree.
But you are the Saints so:
But to not think he wasn't worth a 6th or 7th when you know those are throwaway picks anyway?
You have a HOF QB and you have line issues ever year?
You supposedly excel at finding "hidden gems"?
It was dumbass move (to not do it), plain and simple.

I'd trade houses with that guy.
Well, backyards, anyway.
He would trade houses and backyards with the real owners of that place too.

And there has to have been a reason why not even a single team threw a 6 or 7 at him (i.e. NFL officials said nobody touches him). There's no explanation otherwise, he was a top 10 talent and wasn't a person of interest outside of the girl's kid mentioning his name.

His point is why do the saints get all the blame for something the entire league did?
Why is there no anger towards a team like Denver who had THREE 7th rounders and a hole(s) on their line?
The only real logical explanation is the league put a scare into teams and coming off the heels of Rice/McDonald/AP etc

They don't want to hear all that.
That not one team drafted him does not exist in their universe. It just don't.

Shepard sucks, Ridley is serviceable. Simon is godawful, Mettenburger isn't even a starter, and I don't think Wright has lit it up.
Posted on 5/3/16 at 6:49 pm to VetteGuy
It's painfully obvious the league told teams to stay away from Collins.

I wonder if Falcon fans gets pissed if the Falcons don't draft a guy from UGA
or Seahawks get mad about a guy from Washington not being drafted
and so on and so on

Point being, if you're the Saints, why do you GAS what "the League" says?
Posted on 5/3/16 at 8:46 pm to LosLobos111
It's pretty obvious, just logistically, that the Saints would have more exposure to Collins than Denver (or any other team). Plus, Denver's been to two SB's in the last 3 years so let's assume they know more than the brain trust in Metairie.

I mean, if the bounty mess proved anything, it's that the league doesn't punish anyone and would never take away draft picks from us.

Yeah well, they did. No one is denying that.
That was an official deal. The Collins thing (which didn't exist anyway) was never put on paper or email.
So you're saying it was OK to sign him as UDFA, but not actually draft him?
Don't yall ever get tire of making excuses for Loomis/Payton?

Payton and Loomis deserve a lot of flak for stuff they've done, but La'el Collins isn't one of them.
I don't know why you guys put yourselves through this.
