You brought up his 40 time from college. In the drills that measure quickness, he was very comparable to AP

Am I in the twilight zone here? You cant be serious.

Oh... now I get it. They must have been really close, which is why he went undrafted.

Unreal dude. Apples and Oranges.

Haha. The video you linked is from what '09?
Am I seeing this right? If so, why don't I show a video of Deuce from '06 and say "we should get him. Look how good he looks".

Notice how many passes are not "screens", but swing passes and wheel routes.

You think PT can do that?

They were very similar in the quickness drills. How is it apples to oranges?

I was disputing your theory that quickness has ZERO to do with making defense players miss

Keep in mind with this the snaps counts also.

Pass Block Snaps:

Thomas- 73
Sproles- 14
Ingram- 14
Robinson- 3

Thomas was the only one relied on by Payton to do it consistently. The other guys averaged less than one pass block snap a game(over 16 games; still very low when taking into account actual games played).

Quick / Fast players aren't forced to make players miss. They just run around them....

Quick / Fast players have a second gear to kick in when in the open field. I'm not hating on Pierre, but he doesn't have that.

Comparing Pierre with AP (who might end up being one of the best ever) is absolutely outrageous.
To say that you've gone overboard with that comparison is the understatement of the year.

Your reading comprehension is so unbelievably bad.

I compared his quickness drill #'s to a player who is obviously very very quick. You're the one who pulled his 40 time out

PT
20 yard shuttle - 4.31
3-Cone Drill - 7.12
10 yard dash - 1.57

AP
20 yard shuttle - 4.40
3 cone drill - 7.09
10 yard dash - 1.53

Are you confusing quickness with speed again? He has great acceleration and can change direction

Yeah, he's quick enough to not even get drafted.
Why don't we compare Colston to Megatron while we're at it?

Let's stop the Pierre Thomas / Adrian Peterson comparison. Jesus Christ. Dumbest thing I've ever heard.

Exactly.

Robinson has earned his touches.

If Pierre stays, we have to get rid of Ingram.

We MUST have a scatback.

GREAT POINT!!!!!!!!!!!! I gave you his numbers and that is all you have?

Clearly he was evaluated correctly.

Colston is clearly a 7th round talent too

Last year we played with Thomas, Sproles, and Ingram sprinkled in.

Robinson saw very little action till the playoffs.

IMO Robinson has earned his touches.
Pierre gets extended.
Ingram still on rookie deal.

Who is going to make up for Sproles' playing time?
Who on our roster now has his skill set?
None of those 3 do.

If we bring someone in, then we have 4!
We don't need 4 fricking running backs.

Extending Pierre makes no sense to me at all.

Sproles had 71 catches last year.
Who takes that role? Pierre? So he'll have 140 catches?

You cant run the same type of plays with any of those 3 that you can with Sproles / Bush.

Ok I'm not reading this whole thread because there is obviously some morons yapping in here, but if anyone in this thread doesn't think Pierre is still and has been the best RB on our roster then you need to turn in your fan card, because you are not watching the fricking games. This restructure is the best thing that could've happened for the team.

Good offenses don't NEED a scatback.

Manning and denver? none last year
Rodgers and GB? none last year
Brady and NE? none last year

it is a different aspect of an offense, but it isn't necessary to be a good offense.

That's what I was saying. PT is an all-around running back. He isn't a scat back because he's on the field every play.

Takes away some predictability
