Mr Brees is NOT a clutch QB and has proved this repeatedly on the road in hostile environments.

lolz. He had arguably the best super bowl ever and has played great in the playoffs up until this 1 game.

quote: Our Fanbase is fricking retarded You ever seen a 5 year old in a toy store with rich parents and a basket full of the nicest most expensive toys money can buy just sit and cry his eyes out because his parents won't buy him every thing he wants even though he already has more than most kids could never ask for? That's exactly what this fan base is like. Except if you look at it ad a family all these cry baby's were adopted by rich parents and the biological children aka fans before Katrina just sit and laugh because we remember when we were happy with a shitty toy and these new kids are crying because the most expensive toy on the market which they already own won't do something that impossible aka win the superbowl every year.

This. Our fan base is ridiculous. Yes he's still elite and he had the second best season for a QB this year outside of Manning who is breaking all records this year. Yes he has struggled at times this year but so has every other quarterback outside of Manning. I don't know if any quarterback could look good in yesterday's weather in Seattle.

It's crazy what the fans are saying. Trade him, he's lost his edge, draft a new QB, his arm is done, etc.. He threw for 5,000 yards this year and 39 td's. He also got us to the divisional playoff game. Any fan arguing that he isn't good are just irrational. So who do we get to replace him? Replace a top 5 QB with who?

2nd in completion percentage
2nd in yards
2nd in touchdowns

I guess you can bring up his interceptions, but he has only one more than Brady and two more than Manning. Both of which are probably considered elite.

I'm not sure how much more "elite" it gets than that.

Anyone saying he is not elite is just emotional about us losing a game on the road to the number 1 seed in bad weather with Brees throwing for 300+ yards.

Was not getting a first down three times in last three minutes of game against Pats clutch?? What about his play against the Jets or Rams. No I'm not trolling idiot I'm telling the truth Brees choked a lot this year period.

So being elite means you "never" have a bad game?
Who fits that criteria this year?

He's washed up, he's no good...

It's the disparity between home games and away that has people losing their minds. Yes, he's had some bad games, as do all quarterbacks. But the team as whole has struggled on the road. They were two calls away from winning 13 games (@NE and @CAR) where Payton could've gone for the throat, but didn't.

Brees had one of his best seasons overall, people saying he's no longer elite... You are really stupid.

to me it was all the bad and misplaced throws he made in the second half... he just doesn't hit guys in stride anymore and floated a few bad ones.

it wouldn't be so alarming if brees was younger and his best days were ahead of him. if the right deal is out there, loomis should at least listen for a combination of 1st round picks and young studs like josh gordon for example

And that disparity is real.

But it doesn't keep him from being elite.

I think he's still elite; however, I think he will age the worst out of the Brady/Manning/Brees group. He's always been more of a gun slinger than Manning/Brady, and while his accuracy is undeniable, the loss of velocity is going to turn questionable throws into interceptions.

With the all pro offensive line he use to have he was great. Since he sucked up all that money and the line went by by less then stellar.

Fair enough, although I dont think its the loss of velocity to blame for INTs. Brees, moreso than Brady, Manning, or Rodgers, forces things which result in picks. He also has a height disadvantage so he throws some picks to linebackers over the middle. Otherwise, I agree.

322, 288, 236, 382, 278, 147, 393, 281, 250, 309. Yards on the road.

How about this.

Player A
Home 61.9%
Away 59.3

Player B
Home 73.6
Away 64.0

Player C
Home 69.3
Away 67.2

Player D
Home 64.1
Away 62.3

Player E
Home 57.1
Away 59.7

One of those is Brees, the other 4 are in their conference championship games. Who is elite in that group?

Brees put up his stats against the #1, #6, #15, #17 #18, #19, #21, #22 passing defenses at their stadiums.
