Well, thats probably best. You'd have probably been if you'd have been here. The Score Board was.... frustrating.

Yeah staying away was probably for the best

This board right now is ridiculous.

11-5, road playoff win, 5000 yard season, ints down, Payton's back, Ryan is an animal, defense stepping up huge...

And there's no happiness to be found.

Compare this year to last year. That's what we get with no Payton v. With Payton. And no Ryan v with Ryan. The offense is obviously improved. Give brees protection and we win the superbowl next year.

I thought about this as the clock expired Saturday night. Looking at the last game last season, we had no coach, the worst defense in NFL history.

If you think about it, this will be the first normal offseason the Saints have had in three years. The major players in the coaching staff are in place, you might see a change at O-Line coach. CSP isn't returning from a year long ban of contact, so he's not having to recap an entire seasons worth of notes with his staff. He's not choosing a new D-Coordinator. Ryan has had a season to evaluate his unit and see where changes need to be made.

Despite serious issues on the line, Drew Brees played better this year than last year. CSP seemed to get the funk out of his system towards the end of the year and get back to running the football.

We have options going into next season. If Will Smith and Jabari retire, it frees up almost $20m in cap space. Restructure Drew, and the Saints have a little bit of money to play with in FA. Also, I believe the cap's going up this offseason with the TV deal, correct?

The sky is not falling. Its disappointing, but lets not jump ship just yet.

If we are defining elite as in able to take the team to an NFC Championship game on a yearly bases like Manning or Brady then NO......but if we are saying Elite is being able to take a team to the playoffs yearly then yes he is elite.

I'm starting to devalue passing yards stats.....Yes Drew has thrown for 5,000 yards.....but that's personal stats and doesn't necessarily mean the TEAM will make an NFC game or SB......

In the game on Sunday, Drew got his yards, but when it mattered the most in key situations, he wasn't sharp at all.

He's on the downside of his peak and will need alot of help (O-Line, WR, RB play, and play-calling) going foward!

How many QB's do you think would look sharp in a 20-30 mph swirling wind?

Russel Wilson sure didn't look sharp.

There isn't any quarterback that goes every year to the Championship game. This will be Peyton's 4 AFC championship in 14 years and Brady's 8th in 14 seasons. The only player close to doing it every year is Brady. Even Rodgers isn't that good to take his team to the championship game every year. Rodgers has one championship game. Brees has two in 8 seasons here.

Wilson didn't throw much all year and didn't throw for 5,000 yds.....I expect him to play as he did......

The short passes that he overthrew, the wind had zero effect.....getting balls batted down that's not a wind issue either

That is probably why I say, how are we defining Elite?

Brees, aside from Manning may have been the MVP of the league. Football acumen is at an all-time low on this board.

He has a below average line, below average weapons and continues to shred defenses. Without Brees, we are picking 1st.

Reading all the Brees post It seems there are:

Special QB's
HOF QB's
Great QB's
Elite QB's
Upper tier QB's
Good QB's
Fair QB's
Poor QB's
Greedy QB's
Top 5 QB's

Did I get them all?

I may have my facts slightly off here, but you get the point...

I've asked 3-5 guys who said he wasn't elite who the elite guys are.

None have done so, I don't believe.

Interesting...

Brady, Manning, Rodgers then Brees. Although some years it may be Brees then Rodgers. According to about every NFL analyst alive. How is that.
