I think AD at SF could be awesome. We know he can shoot, we know he's quick, we know he's got handles and his finishing at the rim is elite. And his defense at the 3 would be just fine with that length.
Count me in for this. And then get me a cheap pass first PG like Ish and I like my chances.

I'm not opposed to keeping Jrue, but I don't want (and I think the organization has learned) a situation like EGKnee, where we feel compelled to do it because of the sunk costs.
If what Crewz says is solid and they have 2 offers to Jrue where he would make less than AD and they stick to their guns, then I would say they are in a situation where they evaluated him as a player and his importance to the team/keeping Cousins, and not basing their decision on the cost it took to acquire Jrue.

I think most of that is true, but I also wonder if they never had Jrue and let's say he was a FA coming from Indiana, would they be all excited to throw 4/100 at him or would someone else be atop their list?
I would bet heavy on the latter

What other guard do you think is going to go for 4/100 this offseason? George Hill? That contract would be atrocious for probably the last two years. Jeff Teague? Seems a little rich for him. They aren't getting Paul, Curry, or Lowry.
Holiday, Hill, and Teague are the 3 best available PGs on the market. If I had to give one of them a deal of 4/100, it's probably Jrue but I could see an argument for Hill.

Hill will be better over the next four years Han Jrue, so I would choose him
But the correct answer is to be the team that says 'None of the Above'
And if the Pels never had Jrue, I think alternatives like Mills would top their list. Or Collison. They wouldn't dare talk themselves into 25 mil for a slightly above average combo guard

But how much of that is sunk costs versus the pressure to appease Cousins/AD? If Jrue isn't on the team, their camps don't get upset if Mills is signed over him. I also don't think Collison is an option with Boogie on the roster. And we gave Hill $12M, so I think they could easily talk themselves into Jrue at $25M.

You can justify over paying a guy so many different ways. That's why it happens all the time
Doesn't make it the right move though.

Why would Collison not be an option because of Boogie?
