What can we get with this package?

Let's say getting rid of Asik won't happen but we could get rid of Ajinca.. We don't have many assets however I'm curious as to what the board thinks we can get for:

Ajinca
Diallo
2017 2nd round pick
2018 first round pick

That's not enough to net us a Paul George or Jimmy Butler, nor does it allow us to take much salary back in a trade, but what could that realistically get us?

It would be nice to have a first round pick more than once every decade

That specific package wouldn't do it because of salary, but I think a package built around our 1st and Diallo should be enough to land Bledsoe.

Would you prefer Bledsoe over Jrue if their salaries were the exact same?

I'm terrified with Jrues recent injuries the past few years but if healthy I'm taking Jrue 9/10 times. Jrue can be that lockdown defender and he has size. Bledsoe is definitely undersized but is still very athletic.

i'd take Bledsoe over Holiday in a vacuum. but Bledsoe's injury history is no joke either. and he's got some of the same questions as Holiday does in terms of being willing/able to play more off ball w/ Cousins/Davis.

if they could (which seems like very rosy thinking to me) get Bledsoe for 2018 1st and Diallo, i'd let Holiday walk and do it, even with his injury history, for these reasons:

UK guy (assume there is no beef between him and Davis or Cousins)
much cheaper than Holiday will be (2/$29M left)

I REALLY hope we keep Diallo. I think he's gonna be a very good player in a few years and we will control him for several years.

I'd rather just trade our 2018 first for someone like Rubio, than I would trade our 2018 first + Diallo for Bledsoe.

I wonder if 1st (protected) + filler is enough to land Rubio. He's truthfully the only reasonably priced point guard that does what you need

I do think Bledsoe for just a 1st is optimistic but adding Diallo seems to push the deal into fair territory to me. Maybe we value Diallo differently but I don't think Bledsoe will be able to pull much more than that.

The league is already saturated at PG, you have several available PGs in FA like Holiday/Teague, PGs you can get via trade like Rubio/Lin/Bledsoe/Dragic and it's a PG rich draft. On top of all that Bledsoe has a concerning injury history and Phoenix is clearly moving in a younger direction to where they need to trade him.

I think a Rubio package probably needs to be built around Moore. Thibs doesn't want more youth, he wants steady vets that can execute his schemes. Unless there's a bidding war (Dallas?) I would hope Moore + 2nds would be enough to make it happen.

The other team would likely see that package as a pick in the late teens. Ajinca cancels out the other two unknowns. A pick in the late teens gets you Tim Hardaway Jr when he wasn't any good or an over the hill Marco Belinelli. Or Jarryd Bayless or Omer Asik

At least in recent years

i think you're right about PG being saturated. and i do think the Pels could get Lin tonight if they offered a 1st.

same time, that pick is likely around 20 or so. like Crewz points out, that hasn't been enough to get a guy as good as Bledsoe and that's without adding in his old cap contract. and i'm not sure Diallo brings much value to the Suns since they just spent 2 top 8 picks last year on young, developmental bigs

but maybe they can pull it off. they did get Cousins for Buddy Hield and #10. so anything can happen

I think that Rubio is by far the most attainable pg and as long as the mavs and knicks don't go after him I'm pretty sure we could get him for Moore Ajinca and two 2nds

All that valuation from the past tells them is maybe they will hold rather than "sell low" only to find out later that they misread the market and they have an asset that continues to be worth less than they thought. It happens far too often in the league.

Moore for Rubio would make a lot of sense for both teams IF we keep Jrue. If Jrue leaves, I still probably make the trade, but I have to think about it.

Rubio/Jrue/Solo/AD/Boogie feels like a team that can win 50 100-95 type games. If Jrue leaves and we make that trade, then we absolutely have to use the MLE on a SG.

I agree but if jrue left then I would stretch Asik and go under the cap as much as possible and go after J.J. Redick for like 3 years 54 mil. Then you would have Rubio Redick Hill AD DC and still have the bi-annual and our 2018 first to use if we need to.

I think Reddick can be had for 15mil annually. Inflated prices due to increased cap, but 18mil seems too much for a pure shooter and nothing more.

I would agree with you but the numbers I was seeing for him were in the 16 to 20 mil range. Bleacher report did a prediction report on what guys would get this offseason and they had JJ Redick getting 3 years 60 mil
