Source: New Orleans Pelicans have expressed interest in signing K.J. McDaniels to an offer sheet. He's antsy to sign once moratorium ends.

I've yet to see anyone say "we are going to offer"

No worries. Was just pointing out why some might be getting frustrated.

I am sure Dell has pondered a lot of things these past few days

I am not in favor of giving up cole. Jrue has not proved he can stay healthy. EG hasn't either although he has one season. If either of those miss time we are hurting without cole. Cole keeps this team running when people are injured. If EG gets injured I see reke playing 2. It's just a lot to lose not having a true back up point guard when reke is counted on to play other positions as well

I wonder if Green was in consideration for us. That was a mighty cheap deal.

Also if your second into is
Reke
Mcdaniels
Cunningham
Ryno
Ajinca

Think about all that shooting. The spacing would be phenomenal to watch lol

Probably but I think someone else(like medical/attitude etc) caused teams to be scared off.

Something is off about him taking a 1/3 of what he's worth.

If we trade Cole I would imagine Demps has some other guards lined up. Toney Douglas was no Cole but he's better than playing the lineup that you listed. If we get KJ it's not about his impact this year, its about his potential and making up for past draft picks we traded away.

Could actually use the lineup he posted but swap DC with QPon.

I have yet to see Dell bring in a guy where character was even partly an issue. (DC was completely cleared and it was a made up claim)

I think he is willing to take less talented guys on the bottom of the roster who offer better intangibles and will help team chemistry rather than possibly hurt it

I know but I feel like we need cole this season. I don't like the playing for next season kind of thing especially when we are so close. We aren't a title contender this season yet but that doesn't mean sacrifice things this season. Maybe I just value cole more than others with our injury history and he fits with this up tempo offense. Think he could have his most efficient season so far

If Cunningham is stepping out to the corner 3, as has been reported, there are no issues. At all.

Norris Cole is a career 32% 3PT shooter. That's including playing with Bron, Wade, Bosh in a system designed to get tons of open 3s. Really missing out on his spacing....

Definitely. Green wasn't a perfect fit for what we were looking for but would definitely have been an upgrade.

I would assume this is the reason.

Y'all are crazy. Norris Cole showed signs of life in NO. He's better than Austin Rivers. Those are very low bars. Acting like he is some vital piece as the 5th best guard on the team is nuts.

We're talking about a 2nd unit who's smallest player is 6'6". You want positional versatility, there you go.

His defense is elite. He also has the ability to get into the paint at will and create open 3's for others, like DC in the corner or Ryno, and he's great at the floater. It's not like people leave him open for 3's like they do to Reke.

I really don't want to let him go, but i do like the potential of KJ and if there's no way else around it, then i'm willing to give him up for KJ. Just wish he wouldn't go to Houston.

If it's KJ or Cole, give me Cole. EG and Jrue are injury prone, and Cole did solid work for us last year.

Hoping for both, but I think we need to keep Cole no matter what.

All I said was he's a step up from a guy who's only staying in the league through 10 days. I'm pro trading Cole for KJ if that's what it takes.

Neither one of these are remotely true. I have no words if this is where you're coming from

i dont know about all that...

cole was a good player last year, a legitimate NBA rotation player. i wouldnt call anything about any part of his game "elite", except for maybe his haircut
