re: Solmon Hill to Pels 4yr/50 potential 2 mill for good behavior on line - corndeaux
want to know what Solomon Hill has done that lets say Brandon Rush or Ian Clark hasn't
Combo forwards (which neither Rush/Clark are) with some skill are the new 7 footers. They will get paid in 2016 NBA. I like Hill much more as a small 4 than "true" SF. ...

re: Solmon Hill to Pels 4yr/50 potential 2 mill for good behavior on line - corndeaux
Bottom line, this team put itself in a shitty position due to years of poor management and decisions. One summer of FA off a 30 win season was never, ever changing that....

re: Solmon Hill to Pels 4yr/50 potential 2 mill for good behavior on line - corndeaux
No shite. That's why I said Aminu contract last summer. It's a risk. Every guy they could have realistically signed is a risk. For the money and Hill's age/skill set, it's not an awful risk. ...

How much different is this than the Aminu contract last year?...

re: Official Free Agency Thread - corndeaux
I agree. Basically you could swap him for Evans for an extra $2M this year. Still room to bargain shop, which they seem to be doing anyway. I would guess they either still want to keep Evans around or don't have a dumping ground for him....

re: Official Free Agency Thread - corndeaux
Sweet Jesus
 Not great, Bob. If Lance Thomas is the only FA they sign, there is a huge problem. Say they get something like Henderson, Thomas, Rush and bring back Ennis/Frazier. Again, nothing to get too excited about, but solid depth and youth along the perimeter w/ a ...
Bringing back Lance is a nothing move. He's a fringe player.
Which is a patient move, which is what people said they wanted. Sometimes nothing moves turn out well; see Carroll/Bazemore to ATL and Pondexter to NO.
The reality is that mediocre guys are getting crazy overp...

re: Official Free Agency Thread - corndeaux
I would argue they need more guys who can play on the wing, even with some overlap. Being able to play Holiday/Bazemore/QPon + Davis is attractive in 2016 NBA. They could conceivably go small w/ Holiday/QPon/Thomas/Cunningham/Davis. Considerably less attractive lineup, but that type of versatili...

Right. He gets to 8 figures, no thank you. But say he asks for $8M annually; that's slightly above the mid-level in $70M cap. That's an interesting price point and could see it both ways...

re: Official Free Agency Thread - corndeaux
Yeah. That $15M comes out to $11.2 in $70M cap. Lin is a good player. I hope he doesn't go to Sacramento. Dallas w/ Carlisle and running PnR w/ Dirk or Houston to reunite w/ D'Antoni would be interesting for him (probably bad for the Pels) ETA- welp, saw Lobos above...wonder if Cubes decides...

re: Official Free Agency Thread - corndeaux
how is he different than Cunningham?
So I do think he's a little more versatile defensively. He's more 4 than 3, but he has enough shooting to not kill spacing at the 3. But why would the Pels NOT want a guy who can offer that at that price? Why would bargain be a better move? F...

re: Official Free Agency Thread - corndeaux
According to Nate Duncan, the Knicks only have $14.4M in cap space left. Re: Ish/Lin- $6M for your backup pg in a $94M cap is bad? That's roughly $4.5M in a $70M cap. And the cap will jump to $108 next year, which is $3.85M in a $70M cap. We need to re-adjust the way we think about these num...

re: Official Free Agency Thread - corndeaux
So this summer will be nuts. But, I wouldn't read too too much into Noah/Mozgov deals. The crazy Knicks and desperate Lakers handed out the deals. 2 teams w/ little interest from guys of consequence that have to make headlines given market and familial pressures. Honestly, the $$$ in the Noah...

TBW had a write up on Barnes and the Pels. Nikkoewan with the post [link=(http://www.thebirdwrites.com/2016/6/30/12038908/2016-nba-free-agency-harrison-barnes-pelicans-davis-green)]LINK[/link] TL; DR He isn't a huge fan of Barnes at a max, but he wouldn't be too upset if they sign him. L...
