Yay! We've traded the one point guard on our team who can effectively run our offense and the one guy on the team who hustles on each and every play. Well played, Dell. Well played.

Players who netted a 1st rounder in trades last year:

Dragic
Rondo
B Knight
Afflalo
Isaiah Thomas

If you think Ish was worth a first, then I have some magic beans to sell you.

Looks like demps returned the favors to 6ers for not claiming him.

6ers wanted ish. Ish wanted to come to nola so the 6ers passed on him. He signs with pels. Pels get healthy and smith falls out of rotation, demps trade him to the 6ers for scraps.

Great example of management working with management of other teams and a player to make everyone happy. This may have been agreed upon before the season started.

The Pelicans just played the best 2 offensive games of the young season and Ish Smith played a total of 7 minutes combined in them.

You are mad overrating Ish.

This is a good deal. Those 2nds will be used as trade parts.

This is step 1. There will be more steps to come.

If Demps can get multiple 2nds for any of our minimum guys he should, especially if we need some sweeteners for other deals.

Godammit. A source in Philly tells me one of the draft picks has a stress fracture.

Yeah for real. We need to be accumulating assets in exchange for minimum guys like Ish. Those can be big factors in larger deals.

Is Gyno ok?

Most teams don't even keep 15 so probably no one.

Pretty sure Douglas isn't guaranteed so I wouldn't be surprised if we drop him too before the date his contract becomes guaranteed for the season.

You have to give them a player worth a first for them to give you a first

yeah Douglas is a goner if nobody gets hurt
not even counting him as a spot at this point

will be interesting to see what the market is now for Gordon now that the pels have sweeteners

I don't think we would be able to get any good long term player for a really expensive expiring contract

Yea, Phx has to attach a sweetener like Godwin to move Morris now.

why not?
he can shoot, he's healthy, and his contract expires

if you were OKC for example would you rather play waiters or Gordon?
or if you were the Bulls, Gordon or hinrich?
plenty of others

Gordon is much more tradeable now with a 2nd rnd pick attached

He's a smart pg who runs a system well. He deserves to play a backup role over Cole who hasn't outplayed anybody on the team to deserve minutes.
