I'm hoping Wilson Chandler or Otto Potter is our starting 3 next year.

Unless we get a new starting 5, I'd rather Aminu with the 1st unit and Porter with the 2nd unit.

All that stat shows is that he is a tall point guard. It's hardly a complete stat. That's why things like double doubles are stupid. It doesn't have much to do with scoring ability.

Excuse my french, but you're a fricking moron. His double doubles have 100% to do with scoring and 100% to do with creating scoring opportunities for teammates. That's like 200% scoring, bro.

There are legitimate negatives to Vasquez but this is one of the dumbest things I've read here.

I've seen them.

Outside of a few brave souls, they are a wretched hive of scum and villainy

I'm a big fan of what Vasquez has done this year. I want to keep him here. The team needs a deeper bench and more capable scorers, not a new PG.

i don't think it necessarily has to be either. stats are stats. although they can be skewed to tell a story, they don't lie.

The problem is that any joker can come up with an arbitrary standard to make someone seem “better" than they are merely by association. The implication of the stat listed in the OP is that GV and Bron are doing similar things, but that's really just a product of creatively skewing the numbers. GV is a good answer at PG, make no mistake, but it's just misleading.

The guy is a good backup player. He is HORRIBLE on defense. On offense, he does some good things, but he has a tendency to dribble away the shot clock while not breaking down the defense. The guy plays hard; I will give him credit for that.

Scoring isn't the problem.

Since coming back from the break, the 5 game average points per 100 possessions according to NBA.com: 106.4.

Season long league average is around 102.

Ive detailed it in another thread, but when Gordon plays they have a top 10 offense. Sample is still very small (20+ games), but the numbers are very good on offense.

Defense is where this team loses games

There is a lot of hyperbole here. Opposing PGs have not been blowing away their averages against him.

It's not an implication. It's a fact.

I don't know why he wasn't considered for the all star team.

Other than the fact that we suck, whats stopped them from selecting him?

Him being a big PG is fricking awesome btw

Look vasquez fans, I love him as a player and person but he is not what this team needs. Imagine this team with PG that isnt slow footed with Davis and Aminu running the fast break and anderson spotting up in corner on fast breaks, as long as Vasquez is on this team we will never be that team. If you watch this team you know that he doesn't play at an elite level. and he never will. He does not have the skill set. Dont be upset this summer when he is gone for a player like bledsoe dont come on here and say we missed out. I want to win a championship one day with this team and we will never do that as long as vasquez is on this team.

Watch the hornets vs OKC game tonight. You'll see why vasquez will never be the starting PG on a championship team. Now if he were a backup for this team, He would be an elite bench player in this league. Similar to the role Jarret Jack has this year on golden St.

As the full time starter perhaps. If he'd accept a lesser role long term I can see him being an important part of the future rotation. Contenders have guys like Vasquez on their team.

I don't think most people would be very upset at that. Vasquez is this year's Jack. People weren't upset that Jack was traded, they were upset that Jack appeared to be given away. And for the most part they got over it pretty quickly. What would be upsetting is giving Vasquez, Lopez and a pick to get Bledsoe. Darren Collison is another backup that showed a lot of promise filling in for CP3 and he was only worth Ariza.
