Start Hess - bearhc
I do not want to hear that Hess just pitched. He has the potential to be another Ben McDonald. Start him tomorrow and have Gilbert in reserve. Remember how PM used Louis Coleman when we won the championship. Great game by Lange; he will be ready for Wednesday with Poche in reserve. Make the call Pau...

re: Why not throw Hess into the rotation? - bearhc
If we win game 1 with OSU, I would start Hess in the second game. He is the only pitcher that LSU has that can absolutely just shut an opponent down. There is no tomorrow. You have to give it your best shot right away. Remember Laxton....

re: Hitting Approach - bearhc
No Boh, this "problem" has been hurting some of our hitters for years. Some of our hitters have to know their physical limitations, shorten their swings, and become line drive hitters. By the way, I'm am all for LSU. This was also a problem in the Fla. State game; their pitcher was very good, but th...

Hitting Approach - bearhc
I have watched numerous LSU baseball games over the years, and it seems to me that we always struggle against guys who change speeds throwing change ups and curves. The OSU pitcher was only throwing his fastball at 83-85mph. All of our hitters pretty much swing "from their heels" and try to crush th...

re: Hunter Newman not picked for a second straight year - bearhc
Nothing personal , but he does not have the stuff to get out of A ball. If he wants to say he played pro ball, he can sign as a free agent. He should be proud of what he accomplished at LSU and move on to the next chapter in his life. Hopefully he has earned a degree....

re: Cut off New Orleans - bearhc
How did Davis break his oath? For the record, the Constitution (read it) makes no mention of secession. Secession was not illegal my friend. The states that these men lived in seceded from the Union. As citizens of those states, they were under no obligation to the government of the United States. O...

re: Cut off New Orleans - bearhc
I do not blame you. I was born in New Orleans and am one of those terrible people whose family moved to the suburbs. All you have to do is look at what the city has become to understand what has been going on there. The crime, drugs, blight, poor roads, poor service, etc. are disgraceful. ...

re: Cut off New Orleans - bearhc
I assure you, I am not a fool. Does it not concern you that government takes action under the cover of darkness. Does it not concern you that a statue that is on the National Historic Register has been removed, because the Mayor of New Orleans ordered it to be removed? These statues were not an issue...

The 18 cent gas tax - bearhc
If we swallow this we are total losers. Our former dumbass governor cut taxes for wealthy businessmen, so now the middles class is being asked to shoulder the burden. Any legislator who votes to approve this needs to be voted out of office. This is ridiculous....

Cut off New Orleans - bearhc
Mayor Landrieu is trying to score political points with his "government by darkness' grandstanding. These monuments were not issue at all. I ask all lawmakers in the House and Senate in Louisiana to cut off all non-critical sources of revenue to the City of New Orleans. I do not want to hurt any peo...

The Confederate Statues - bearhc
Everyone should get their hands on the commentary in the Nola Adocate paid for by Ben Bagert. Mr. Bagert points out some interesting facts about PGT Beauregard that I am sure uptown elitist Mitch was not aware of. Mitch has lost all credibility by becoming a political whore of the first magnitude. T...

re: Exactly how good was Tommy Casanova? - bearhc
He is one of the best to play at LSU. He was very big for a safety in his era; he was six two or three and went 195 to 205. He excelled every where he was put. He was great safety, a great return man, and when he played RB, he was really good there also. That secondary he played in at Cincy was grea...
