To call the Beatles a boy band is laughable. The Beatles weren't formed to appeal specifically to teenage girls like the modern boy bands. They were formed by young men from Liverpool who had a love for American music, and wanted to play in that style. The musical act wasn't geared toward teenage girls, despite its popularity with them.

The Beatles were formed when performers wore stage costumes. Their last live performance before a paying audience was in 1966. So footage of them performing shows reflects the standards of the era. In hindsight it may appear calculated or gimmicky, but everyone did it at the time, or hadn't you noticed the Beach Boys and their uniform clothing?

Only the boy bands.

Oh Well

Oh Well was recorded in 1969. By 1969 the Beatles were on the verge of breaking up. How is something Fleetwood Mac did in 1969 relevant to what the Beatles are being accused of from 1963-1966?

I think systemsgo is trying to say their brain has suffered the same drug induced damage, as that of Peter Green.

Here is footage of the Beatles from 1963. LINK Compare that to this list of the top songs of 1963 in the United States and tell me how the Beatles weren't revolutionary. LINK They were unlike anything going on at the time.

Oh, so bands wore stage costumes in 1966 but then not in 1969? When was the stopping point, assclown?

And should I post some more clips? You think that was the only one available?

I'd say they were above average for a boy band.

So you also opine that the Beach Boys and the Rolling Stones were boy bands?

Post whatever you want. Whatever you post will not diminish the greatness of the Beatles. I feel sorry for you if you don't enjoy the best music of its time.

my parents who were young during the Beatles era claim that they were just a boy band... basically the One Direction of their day.
They probably had great taste in music. I'll never understand the continued appeal of that band. I get that they were popular back then just as Michael jackson and Madonna were once popular. I listen and all I hear is meh.

You all are wasting too much time and energy arguing with someone who is so obviously a troll at best and a complete fool at worst.

The Beatles need no evidence in their favor besides Sgt. Peppers. Just leave it at that and let the idiots dance.

You realize the beatles are in the rock n roll hall of fame and each member is also in the rock n roll hall of fame as a solo artist?

I love the Beatles. "Here Comes the Sun" is one of my alltime favorite songs.

However, I also like One Direction, Nsync, Backstreet Boys, and the Biebs. :jump1:
