Right... coaches have been processing kids for decades. It’s still happening now. It always been a numbers game. Now the players have some power to move around and people are complaining.

I would like to know if the people that think players should be required to sit out a year also think that a school should have to forfeit that scholarship for a year of they pull it from a player.

Wait, the guy who thinks the most important aspect of college football is his experience and enjoyment is calling someone else a bitch?

No need to be such a butt hurt little bitch about it. We just disagree on where the priorities of the sport should lie.

I’m not being a butt hurt bitch. I’m laughing at how dumb your argument is and how you can’t back it up with anything besides “I don’t like it”

I don't need any other argument. It's gay. It sucks to have college football become more professionalized. It makes the entire thing less culturally appealing. That's it. I'm not even claiming to hold a popular opinion. If anything, my opinion is very unpopular today.

Burrow was not a transfer portal

And neither was Daniels.

Where they both graduate transfers ?

I don’t quite get this. If Alabama is going to be suiting up and playing football, I am going to be watching and cheering them on. Doesn’t matter who is in the jersey. How does a player transferring change the cultural appeal, when the cultural appeal is the longstanding passion people have for their schools, not for individual players?

I could totally be missing something though. What is the cultural appeal in your mind?

The lack of cultural appeal in the new age of NIL is players going the highest bidding team, rather than going to a school because they love that school.

I get the issue with NIL. But this thread is about transfers. I can understand why NIL effects the appeal.

I love college sports and I love LSU sports.

I am frustrated that a kid like Lance Heard MIGHT decide after one semester of LSU football that he is putting himself out to the highest bidder for NIL. (I do not KNOW he is doing that, but I suspect he is.) I understand why a kid would do that, but it frustrates me when it impacts LSU negatively.

It’s how many “jobs” are chosen after high school.

Don't be a fricking idiot, Burrow was a grad student. Oh wait! You're a Bama fan, never mind...

Wrong bitch. Burrow was a grad transfer. He earned the right to transfer.

See Deion Sanders commitment to the players he booted from Colorado. Seemed pretty easy for him and the school to get out of their commitments to those players

NIL and portal have pretty much ended the college football we grew up with. I understand the players wanting to get paid but something has to be put in place to put a cap on it. Right now this is highest bidder usually gets player. You add in the transfer portal and college football is pretty much the wild west right now .The portal also needs something solid in place.
Here are my proposals :
1)NIL needs a rookie cap type deal where players should be paid a limit when signed out of high school until they prove their worth after one year in college. Players that transfer with no stats are paid the rookie minimium similar to ones signed out of high school. Players with starting experience in college NIL deal based on performance.
2) Transfer portal limited to 1 transfer while in college. That will make the decision much harder for players just to keep jumping around year to year.

The current player system is a shitshow and even more corrupt than it was before.
