It’s not the same and I’m not digging it! College Championships will be tarnished from here on out! Screw whoever came up with this shite-show needs to get kicked in the nuts!

Athletes should be able to transfer. Unregulated NIL is ruining the sport.

I disagree! It shouldn’t be easy to get out of a commitment.

Yes they should be able to transfer but they should have to sit out a year no matter what to keep them amount of players transferring in check.

Get with it ...or get left behind and cry about it.

There's teams in the 4 team playoff still making waves in the transfer portal in middle of a Championship run... and our staff is sitting back doing the bare minimum after fielding arguably the worst defense in school history.

If a coach can leave, a player can leave. We just need more regulation on it and NIL. I believe a player that use a whole year of eligibility should have to sit a year. RS rules should apply to anybody who play 4 games or less allowing them to play immediately. NIL need more rules.

I really don't know where this sentiment is coming from. The purpose of the sport today is to entertain fans, not to cater to the athletes. They get free everything on campus and the highest social status imaginable. But they are portrayed as victims.

I wish the NFL would just open the draft to everyone over age 18. If you are too good to spend time on a college campus without a bidding war then just go pro and stop ruining the sport.

Do you think coaches should be able to take other jobs? What about a regular student, should they not be able to change schools?

Students transfer without having to sit out a year.

I totally agree. It was perfect the way it was before and they screwed it up big time!

Why is this just assumed? They aren't in the same position. It's not pro sports. There are plenty of reasons to treat them differently, namely the fact that roster stability makes for a better overall culture around the sport. Coaches leaving isn't nearly as destabilizing as half the roster being able to leave overnight.

It’s Ed O’bannon’s fault.

Yes, but they have buyouts.

Nothing prevents an athlete from transferring as a student. You just can't play sports at the destination.

So is LSU’s 2019 title tainted because of Burrow transferring?

Is Daniel’s heisman tainted?

Any college student can transfer schools. Why should an athlete be treated differently?

You can’t have it both ways. You pointed out that it’s not pro sports. In pro sports you can make those type of rules, in college you can’t.

What if half of the coaching staff and athletic department staff left overnight? You don’t think that would be destabilizing?

Not always, it depends on the contract.

Why shouldn’t they be able to play sports at their new destination?

Why should it be any harder than quitting your job or dropping out of school? Sometimes players just don’t pan out or get buried in the depth chart. Players should be allowed to transfer. The current state of the NIL is what is ruining CFB.

Y’all do realize that scholarships are year to year and a coach can pull scholarships from players right?

Because the entire purpose of this whole endeavor is to provide entertainment to fans. The priority needs to be making the sport the most appealing for fans, not catering to players. If they don't want that deal then don't come to college or come as a regular student like everyone else.

These people are not victims.
