Three Louisiana hosts would be awesome, especially if all three are paired with other regionals. But probably either Tulane or ULL will be paired with LSU.

1.Louisville....Florida Atlantic(@Long Beach State)
2.Miami.........Vanderbilt
3.Florida.......Florida State
4.Miss State....Clemson
5.Texas A&M.....Louisiana Lafayette
6.Texas Tech....Ole Miss
7.LSU...........Coastal Carolina
8.Virginia......South Carolina

-With Florida struggling the past week, I see Louisville and Miami passing them at the top, and the top seed will be whoever wins the tourament

-LSU's hot streak pushes them passed South Carolina as a national host.

-South Carolina is more deserving of a national seed than Virginia, but I doubt there will be five SEC national seeds. I could see Clemson or Florida State here as well, depending on how the ACC turns out.

-I do have seven SEC hosts. The committee might say that is too many, but both Vandy and Ole Miss are more deserving sites than anyone that was left out.

-There has to be at least one west host, and Long Beach is the hottest team right now. Arizona and Arizona State have pretty much wrapped up their seasons, and their games this weekend wont effect their numbers positively, so they are out. Fullerton could be the host site if they do well in the conference tournament. Either way, I have them as a #2 host with Florida Atlantic being the top team in the bracket.

-Tulane and TCU seem to be the only other potential host sites, and could sneak in depending on the weekend.

Cajuns need go root for La Tech or someone to knock out Southern Miss so they don't re-enter the hosting picture. They also need to root for Houston to beat Tulane today.

I also think we have to run through the tournament without a loss. Good news is that we didn't use Moore out of the pen last night and Huval didn't last very long so he's still available after Nick Lee today. Cajuns have much deeper pitching than the rest of the conference. We have Lee, Guillory, and Marks left as starters while the rest of the Sun Belt is getting into their weaker arms. I'll feel good about our chances if we win today.

GA Southern and UTA are resuming their game at 9am tomorrow. Cajuns will play 40 minutes after that game ends.

Assuming we win the ACC Tournament championship, I think our odds are good at being #1. We would have wins over Wake, Clemson, Virginia and possibly Miami. Remember, the ACC uses a pool format for its postseason

I can't see Texas Tech is number six nor ULL ( with zero top 25 wins) as number 12

Yeah but TCU isn't going to be a national seed. It's changed completely since my original guesses.

TCU is probably a bubble 1 seed right now but they're playing themselves right into a host spot and they'll definitely host if they win the Big 12 tournament. I was rooting hard for Ok State last night - they had a 5-4 lead in the 8th until their bullpen gave up 9 runs in the bottom of the 8th.

Yeah good point, that is why I deleted my post lol.

The South Carolina-Virginia pairing is probably a more solid prediction.

Baseball is not like softball. Only the top 8 are seeded. So even if ULL is theoretically the last host team selected, they don't automatically get paired with the #1 overall seed.

Which I don't really like. Baseball is big enough now to stop worrying so much about travel and start seeding this thing properly.

I'm 100% with you on that one. While they're at it, stop worrying about a conference or state having too many national seeds or host sites. If the SEC has 5-6 of the top 8 teams, reward them for that. If Louisiana has 3 teams worthy of hosting, let them all host.

its probably still snowing in Minnesota in early June right?

actual predictions for the first two weeks in June are mid 70's high and high 50's low. some days low 70's, one or two low 80's.

great baseball weather.
