The days of Dave Winfield and Paul Molitor are long gone. Its kinda weird how good they used to be at sports. Like before 1970

Probably. Pretty sure you freeze to death if you go outside in Minnesota half the year

If Southern Miss or Rice sweeps both the C-USA Regular Season and Tournament Championships, then that feat deserves a host spot as C-USA is the 4th best conference by RPI.

I also think if ULL and/or Tulane win their respective conference regular season championships AND then take their respective conference tournament hardware that they both will be in positions to host as well.

I hope we host, but if not, I would like this very much.

Yea but 12-8 against top 100, 13 losses hardly = #12 Ranking. We're 10-8, 7-3 against top 50, 4-1 against top 20, 13 losses and are #38.
The Cajuns do have a chance if they basically sweep all of those good teams remaining.

So the regular season is pretty much over, who are your top 16?

Anyone think that the Cajuns have any chance to host after blowing a few crucial games over the last couple of weeks? Still floating around top 20 of RPI and just won the series vs south alabama.

LSU can certainly make their case next weekend, but the SEC is so top-heavy... we should be good as long as the NCAA doesn't actually give us our nightmare of being the #2 seed in Lafayette lol

After this weekend, here's my hosts and I don't have a west team hosting:

1. Florida
2. Miami
3. Texas A&M
4. Louisville
5. Mississippi State
6. Texas Tech
7. South Carolina
8. Florida State
9. Ole Miss
10. NC State
11. LSU
12. Virginia
13. Minnesota
14. Rice
15. Coastal Carolina
16. Southern Miss

I think the first 6 national seeds are locks for national seeds and there are about 4 teams battling for the last 2 national seeds. USCe, FSU, Ole Miss, and NC State. Just missing as hosts, Vandy, UCSB, ULL, and Fullerton. USM, Coastal Carolina, and Minnesota are not locks for hosts. Minnesotas RPI is not that good from a hosting standpoint and they can't afford to lose anymore. Will be an interesting last 2 weeks before selection Monday

Louisville just completed a weekend sweep over NC State. This coming off a weekday win over Vandy in Nashville. I would think we are a lock for a national seed. Our pitching has been spectacular. Important for us to get a top 8 seed considering our record at home this season is 32-1

Yea, we scheduled Texas. We get a 130 RPI out of the deal.
The cajuns get top 50 RPIs out of La Tech and NW STate.
Smart or lucky?

Your field needs more balance. TCU, a bubble-host, shouldn't face up with #3 national seed A&M. Several others like that.

On the radio today they said that the Cajuns will more than likely host if they win the Sun Belt Tourney.

LSU more than likely a lock.

Tulane a likely host as well.
