there will probably be one or two west coast host sites, and one of those teams will likely host as a #2 seed. did uc santa barbara put in a bid to host? if so, i can see them getting a host site. then a school like arizona or arizona state hosting florida atlantic as their 1.

texas tech will grab a national seed. the other 7 national seeds will be from the sec and acc. probably 4 from the sec.

overall, 12 sec or acc teams could host. wouldn't be surprised if they screw someone like florida state or virginia and the number is only 10 or 11. ULL will host. tcu will host. florida atlantic will be the #1 seed sent out west.

if either the west coast only gets 1 host site, or the sec/acc only gets 10 or 11 host sites, there will be one or two host spot remaining. and it would likely come down to coastal carolina, southern miss, tulane or maybe uc santa barbara (if they put in a bid).

tulane leads ucf 3-0 in the 7th.

if the wave hold on, they'll have to beat houston twice tomorrow to advance to the championships game. connecticut will likely face houston/tulane in the final. the huskies are hot.

i think if tulane can beat houston twice tomorrow, they'd have to feel good about hosting a regional, regardless of how they do sunday in the final.

tulane wins 5-0. pretty sure that's their 13th shutout of the season, which leads the nation.

1/3 of their wins have been shutouts. that's pretty incredible.

I think a Vandy win today gets them a host. That would give the SEC 7 host sites.

The ACC will get 4 or 5. Miami, UL, and UVA would have been national seeds going into the week. They could be joined by either/or Fla State & NC State.

Texas Tech has one, and will likely be joined by TCU or OK State, as long as Texas doesn't win the tourney. The three conferences (ACC/Big 12/SEC) gets 13 host sites, a dozen worse case.

With the remaining three/four spots:
West (Cal St./'Zona/#2 seed could hostw/FLa Atlantic)
Rice/USM
Coastal Carolina
Tulane
ULL

Both are probably on the outside looking in as of right now. Southern Miss finished 3rd in conference, Rice finished 4th - that hurts them. Not going to say they won't host but I think they're behind the Cajuns and Tulane.

Coastal Carolina

Big South is the 20th ranked conference. That'll hurt Coastal Carolina if it comes down to a final spot.

Yeah, people are not talking much about Vandy's non-conference SOS at 160. The committee may use that as the excuse to send them on the road.

Vandy played 23 games versus teams with an RPI over 100. Texas Tech, TCU, and Coastal Carolina are the only other teams in the top-20 to have played more than 20 games against >100 RPI teams. I don't know how much it matters, but it could be some ammo to not give the SEC another host spot.

Closer look says they are 7-10 versus the NCAA teams from the SEC. Vandy's best OOC wins: 2-of-3 at Stanford (Pac-12's 8th place team at 29-23 with RPI 82).

Kids play in the summer. there is no high school baseball.
so you have little league, pony league and American legion.

pretty typical actually.

Does that include the 3 wins from the SEC tourney? I said they would need a win over A&M to even have a chance.

Yeah. I suspect the committee is sending Vandy on the road now.

Up to date predictions

1.Miami...........Coastal Carolina(@Cal St Fullerton)
2.Louisville......Ole Miss
3.Florida.........Florida State
4.Miss State......Virginia
5.Texas A&M.......TCU
6.LSU.............Arizona
7.Texas Tech......Louisiana Lafayette
8.Clemson.........South Carolina

-Clemson has emerged so far in the ACC Tournament to be the last nationa seed ahead of Florida State and Virginia.
-Ole Miss has a good argument to be a national seed, but it all depends on the committee and how many they will allow from the SEC.
-Im predicting Arizona as a host right now. Look for Oregon State to handle their series this weekend against UCLA, and get into the RPI top 50, and give Arizona three more wins, pushing them to host status.
-Fullerton has a low RPI, but leads the Big West, and took game one against Long Beach. If the committee wants another host out west, look for them to be a two seed with a smaller school(Coastal Carolina)being the top seed.
-Tulane or Southern Miss can get that last home seed if either wins their conference tournament.

I can't how T tech is #7 or ULL #10.

I hope we go to Ole Miss, although it is getting clear that Tulane is going to BR probably along with La Tech. They'll send an out of state team to Lafayette if they get one- probably Rice or Okie State. SELU will go to Mississippi. NCAA insists on jamming Baton Rouge regional with LA teams.

We are also locked pretty much into a 2 although a 1 ismpossible with a tourney win. Wonder the effect of playing all of these games, versus losing and resting up.

eh, i don't think anything is clear right now. i still think it's unlikely tulane goes to BR. 1) they went there last year, 2) i don't think it's fair to send lsu a 2 seed that has already beat them twice this year.

i think tulane is heading to ULL.

are these your predictions?

they look pretty good. clemson won't be a national seed. can't see that happening. also, arizona isn't hosting a regional unless it's as a #2 seed. the only west coast team i can see hosting on their own merit is uc santa barbara, and that's only if they put in a bid to host (can't find out if they have or not).
