This punishes the fans and players. Some Penn State fans are delusional pricks, but it's still wrong.

such flawed logic, this goes way up to the top with boosters and high level school officials. The school needs to be punished. Most likely these players will be allowed to transfer no problems. This is perfect to wake up this cult of a fan base

They could kick them out of the NCAA, decree that all scholarship players can immediately transfer and give other schools more leeway in taking then in.

They probably should kick them out.

Right. Because Logan Young had "an accident."

Speculation:

1982 and 1986 NCs will be stripped.

Hundreds of wins vacated. Bobby Bowden now all time wins leader.

Id be surprised if they actually take things away from the past. Don't see the logic in that tbh.

A message needs to be sent to the entire Athletic Department that any cover up will not be tolerated.

You think that message hasn't been delivered yet?

Again, Emmert and the NCAA are about to break their own record for ridiculousness. I would like to collectively bitch slap the entire organization.

Of course a Trojan fan would hate the NCAA

They brought it up...attacking PSU like they are so above it...using the word CULTURE. PSU's culture was the problem.

Well, sorry to burst their bubble...their culture is a pea in the same pod.

I'm not taking anything away from the hideous things that happened but the criminal is behind bars, the coach is dead, and the rest of the staff and administration has been long gone. So who are they going to be punishing exactly? The new coach that had nothing to do with it, the current players who had nothing to do with it, and the fans who had nothing to do with it?

This kind of thinking baffles me.

IMO it is still too soon for the NCAA to do anything without their own investigation, but assuming the FBI report is true...

How much $ does the football team make for the university each year? In the last 14 years of this cover up, how much $ did the university make from football? How many people's lives were permanently ruined because of this cover up and them allowing this man to continually do what he did? If this had came to light during the initial time of the findings would it have set the football program back a bit? Would it have cost the university a lot of $? Of course it would have, or it wouldn't have been covered up.

Tell that to the countless young boys who are men now whose lives will never be the same. Tell them that all is good now. The perpetrators are gone. We got this handled. And there is no way that this could ever happen again at this University because those guys aren't there anymore. Move along now. Nothing to see here.

basically what most rational people are saying. Let the players transfer with no sitting out period, but still punish the Penn State administration for covering this up and enabling this shite to happen on their campus

No an FBI report...a privately commissioned report.

Once again, it really doesn't matter unless the culture is being used to facilitate illegal activity.

I believe he also said that Penn State should not be allowed to play football, correct?
