I believe the NCAA is out to punish "the idea of bad things being covered up" which is about as fricking stupid as stupid gets. Again, Emmert and the NCAA are about to break their own record for ridiculousness.

fricking Emmert...well if anyone were to dish out penalties based on the reasoning "absolute power corrupts absolutely" - it would be the NCAA looking in the mirror.

I hope the Freeh report later comes out to be plagued with inaccuries and over-reaching conclusions and the NCAA uses it as their basis and gets hammered for their rush to judgment.

That would be the greatest outcome, the NCAA burning at the stake because of this.

The thread title and link suggest otherwise. PSU is facing unprecedented civil suits as the NFL punishing Saints players for their exposure in the concussion lawsuits. The NCAA is distancing themselves from PSU so that they are not named in lawsuits from the victims, IMO

It was sarcasm...sorry.

Why do you need the Freeh report? I've had the same stance on this issue since last November. Why do you think Sandusky "retired" back in 1999? Do you really think that Joe Pa had no knowledge of Sandusky's actions? Common sense people!!!

but you're against collectively bitch-slapping Penn State for knowingly harboring a child rapist?
Where the frick did you get that retarded implication? One has absolutely nothing to do with the other. Just to make myself clear, pedophiles are scumbags that need to be taken off the map. Excised, eliminated, incarcerated, just so they're out of the picture. Makes no difference to me how it happens. But punishing people who had nothing to do with evil deeds is always stupid. Always.

The culture at Penn State had everything to do with allowing it to happen.

The entire culture? Right. Lets all start being less full of shite when talking about the PSU scandal and remember the men in power.

Because then you're in trouble too...Bama boy...your Bama culture is no different. How is that Saban statue lookin' right now? You erected a statue of a coach who is still coaching! At least Paterno had been there 50+ years when they erected his. Bama and delusion.

Is there any dispute that multiple children were raped on campus, in the football facility, on travel functions and people knew this was happening or had happened?

Handcuff the culture, and imprison it.

Is it tangible? Didn't think so.

There's dispute as to how everything was precisely handled and what happened with the DA's investigation in 1998.

I love how the police and city are basically being exonerated because of Paterno...it was the football coach who dropped the ball.

Is there any dispute that the guilty parties have been punished in accordance with the law?

Leave it at that. The football program at Penn State today is not guilty. Individuals in that program were guilty and have been prosecuted.

Understand the difference.

What could be harsher? Moving them to D-III or something?

You can't see the forest through the trees...idiot.

I really don't like calling people names but really, c'mon take off your fandom tard glasses.

You said culture...statue - god - culture of worship - power. Saban.

Even at SEC media days everyone was asking..."dude, your situation at Bama is a little creepy god-like."

This whole situation - ALL OF IT! Is about too much power in one person. Someone who can't do anything wrong in the eyes of the fawning fanbase...YOU!

They would win a national championship in DIII though.
