Wouldn't be terrible putting them outdoors, though.

The Georgia Dome saved the Peach Bowl. Several years of 40 degrees and raining just about killed it. It was down there with the Independence Bowl in terms of payout, attendance etc.

I love outdoor football, but the chance of completely miserable weather in the Southeast is too real for the SEC to ever go outside again.

It is funny how many of you have forgotten that the early games were played in Birmingham in that crap hole stadium.

it's not that much further of a drive for most teams to Tampa. At least I don't think.

Look at a map. It's a much further drive for everyone except Florida.

Dallas has a huge airport

It's huge in terms of size, yes. Doesn't make it a good airport.

And Dallas is really only reasonable for LSU and A&M fans. Atlanta is centrally located for most of the conference.

And Tampa is only a good drive for Florida. It's a 6.5 hr minimum drive for everyone else.

There is really no argument. It won't leave Atlanta for the very obvious reason that Atlanta is far away the best spot for it.

You go to places like New Orleans or Tampa for bowl games and mini vacations. You go to Atlanta or Dallas for weekend championships, money, # of hotel rooms and business ties. Since Dallas isn't convenient to anyone, Atlanta it is.

There's no point to having this conversation. As long as the ACC is stuck in outdoor championship purgatory, the SEC will not rotate it out of Atlanta. They can't let the ACC take that stage away forever, so they won't. Atlanta is a great, centrally located venue anyway,

Lets not make "lights going out" jokes. I have two can lights in my kitchen burnt out. It is incredibly embarrassing.

This. I've always had a great time at the SECCG too. It be nice to move it around, but playing in Atlanta is fine and easy to fly into

Now the SEC baseball tourney in Hoover is a crime. Should be in Memphis or rotate

Yeah you're right. I only did a couple of cities before posting that. Turns out it's a much further drive than I thought.

French Quarter, Uptown bars, live music, casinos, etc. Atlanta just isn't good for a weekend party/fun experience compared to New Orleans and thats not really debatable.

I can't wait for live music to make its way to Atlanta

I like going to ATL for the SECCG. I've had a blast everytime and it's pretty easy to get in and out.

All the people who say the new dome looks like an @sshole have some issues. Have you ever actually seen an @sshole? If yours looks like that stadium you probably need to go see a doctor.

Like most reasonable people, I think ATL is the best spot for the SECCG. And I even live in (and love) NOLA. In previous threads people have posted the distances to each SEC school, and ATL really is the most convenient spot.

If you think that people think it looks like an actual a-hole when they say that, you have some issues. It's a joke to mess with Falcons fans over.
