re: LSU vs Auburn appreciation thread - GumBro Jackson
2004 is my favorite. Crazy end and I think it was the turning point in the season. I was at the 1994 interception game. Auburn-lsu used to be my favorite game of the season, but we have not kept up our end lately and the games haven't been as good. ...

re: Best song of the 80s - GumBro Jackson
I'm not sure it's the best song of the 80's, but the best pop song is Billie Jean. It is ipossibly catchy and one of the few that really cuts across demographics. When it comes on, everyone loves it. ...

re: Vegas council approves stadium proposal to lure Raiders - GumBro Jackson
Public financing of private stadiums is ridiculous. There is overwhelming evidence that there are minimal economic gains. People should communicate this to politicians and throw out those who waste taxpayer funds on these projects. ...

re: 2016 U.S. Open Tennis Championships thread - GumBro Jackson
US Open is usually a lot of fun. I selfishly would like it to be a couple of weeks earlier to not overlap with football season. Will be rooting for the Americans and Kei Nishikori. ...

re: Favorite olympics you have ever watched - GumBro Jackson
Atlanta is the easy answer for me bc I got to attend several events. Of the ones I only watched on tv I think Barcelona. Dream Team, the cauldron lighting with the flaming arrow, no boycotts, and beautiful scenery. I have enjoyed all of them though. ...

re: What do you think is the toughest SEC venue to play in? - GumBro Jackson
Leaving out auburn: 1. Florida: most consistently loud. 2. LSU: very loud at times, but not as consistent. Bama is very tough but because the team is good not because the venue is tough. SC was solid. Uga not as loud as I would have thought. Haven't been to the others. Hope to g...
Their culture is so laid-back and polite compared to ours.
Laid back: No Polite: Yes In my most Japanese are not at all laid back. They are largely hard working perfectionists. Very polite though. I visited Japan last year and everyone was super friendly and polite. Really a ...

re: What's it Like being an NFL Only Fan? - GumBro Jackson
I have much more emotional investment in auburn than in any pro sports team, but I still enjoy following pro sports. In some ways it's easier being a pro sports fan. I enjoy when the Saints and Nats win but it doesn't bum me out when they lose nearly as much as when auburn loses....

re: Have you ever gone to an away game? - GumBro Jackson
Ive been to away games at about eight schools including 5 SEC (Fla, UGA, LSU, bama and SC). Had a good time at all of them and would go back everywhere except west va. Lsu fans talked the most trash but their bad reputation is exaggerated. Great tailgating there. Food was awesome. Sc fans wer...

re: Minnesota Vikings' new stadium is hosting its first event on ESPN 2 - GumBro Jackson
It would be be so awesome if New Orleans could get a new stadium
The stadium looks cool, but I disagree about NOLA. The Superdome is a perfectly fine facility with a fantastic location and a lot of history (good and bad). I've been to several four NFL stadiums newer than the Do...

re: What other SEC school could have been a fit for you had you gone somewhere else? - GumBro Jackson
I think almost any of them would have been at least a decent fit. UGA would have been good. I probably could not have gotten into vandy, and def would not have gotten a scholarship. ...

re: Best RB in SEC history not named Bo Or Herschel? - GumBro Jackson
No idea about in "SEC History" since I didn't see anyone before the 1980's. Since then and excluding Bo and Herschel I think these two are the clear best: Darren McFadden Kevin Faulk After that I think there are several reasonable arguments. Emmitt Smith (obviously if you count NFL productio...
