It never made sense to have it in the Superdome, when winning the SEC meant a trip to NO for the Sugar bowl. No reason to change it now.

In that case, in the full context of this thread, your comparison is thus irrelevant.

You don't strike me as one that can follow context though.

Ironic you bring up context. I was responding to SS who is one of the few NO guys I can talk to on here. Explaining why I was going where I was with this. And then you chirped in

I've read most of this thread with a conflicted mind. This, however, is a sensible idea. Tampa would be a nice fit, so would Orlando, but again, you have a bowl tie-in there, same as Tampa and New Orleans.

Surprised the SEC doesn't just book Legion Field, it would TOTALLY fit with their 'BamaCentric nature.

I understand and sort of agree with the championships being static as it gives teams, programs and fanbases a consistent goal and destination. Hoover Met. seems a nice enough facility. But man, having the baseball tournament at the stadium in Memphis would be a lovely thing.

Are you 12? They already moved the game AWAY from LF.

As stated above it was there. It's a crap hole and has the same weather issues as Atlanta/Nashville etc.

Gotta be trolling with that statement. LF is a rusting shithole that should be torn down. It has too small of capacity since they removed the upper decks and no luxury suites.

Tampa and Orlando are too far to the east just like Dallas and Houston are too far to the west. ATL and NOLA are the only logical choices for the SECCG, but NOLA has the winner going to the Sugar Bowl (unless in the playoffs) so they don't need the SECCG.

The Hoover Met is a high school football stadium with leaking shitter pipes. The baseabll tournament needs to rotate between Memphis, Bham, Pensacola and Biloxi (throw some temporary seats for the last 2, baseball at the beach baby). I also like the idea of having it at Minute Maid Park in Houston, but it would never sell out and I don't think the SEC wants half the stadium empty for every game. It might be okay to have an empty game when UGA and Mizzou are playing in the opening game but not when LSU and SCAR are playing in the final.

Speaking of baseball, since we are talking about rotating, Atlanta would be a good choice for part of the cycle if they could play it at the Gwinnett Braves stadium. Good area. Tons of parking. Nice facility.

I would prefer to play it in a city center and not they suburbs. That is why I left NOLA off the list.
