I've been slacking.

It's kind of a throw darts at a poster on the wall kinda year anyway...

At least songbird made it back to the track today.

I'm going with Creator. I always pick the Arkansas derby winner(they've showed up in the Kentucky Derby)

I haven't paid any attention to any of the racing this year. I need to do a bit of research this week just so I have a clue of who all is in the race this year.

I'll admit it's a complete crap shoot for 2016

Looks like a dry strip, but I still like Exaggerator. Gun Runners times are not in step with the others, but he just wins. Shaping up as a money making race.

gimme Nyquist. Comes from a good breed ("Uncle Mo"), trainer (O'Neill) won the first two legs with "I'll Have Another" in 2012 and same jockey in the saddle...Mario Gutierrez

I've been a little in love with creator since the rebel. I just hope he gets something to run at.

He had a nice easy 4f just now. Hard held before and after. He looks good. Big for a Tapit.

I know it's a silly reason, but I greatly dislike mor spirit for the way he goes. He's so on the forehand that he looks to pull himself along rather than push from behind. It is very noticeable when he gallops.

Also, I noticed he worked in sneaky front wraps today and checked and saw the same for last week. Some will work with all 4 wrapped, but they went out of their way to put black on front and blue in the back so the front isn't noticeable. I need to see if he races in them too. I hate to see front wraps on a 3 yr old. Was the first sign of issue for eskenderaya when he ran with them in the wood.

Going Exaggerator and Mor Spirit for sure. I don't think you can leave off Nyquest. It is like he hasn't been told he is distance limited. Every time I think "this distance will get him" he wins.

$5 Exacta box

Nyquest
and Gun Runner... Just being a homer to the LA derby winner.

That and $10 on two or three of the longest odds come race day.

I never do good on the Derby, too many horses.

My brain says Nyquist the coolness of name says Gun Runner. But I am going Exaggerator for 4 reasons.

1. Santa Anita
2. From Curlin
3. Creator wont be able to go from last to first in the Derby (Usually take the AR Derby horse)
4. No Bo-Rail

Since the "other thread" has now pointed towards this one, I might as well post this here.

PPs for all Derby qualifiers are available free here:

As always, anyone needs PP's for Fridays CD card and Saturdays Derby card, email me. As soon as they come out on DRF, i'll download and send.

While this isn't a great field, i think it's a deep, competitive field. I like Destin, some nice races at Tampa, and sitting on his big race.

Why do you like Destin?

I am so clueless other than Nyquist, Exaggerator, and Creator in this field.

Creator being a Grey is a no go and theres no way he can go from last to first (as I stated earlier)

he hasn't shot his wad yet. All of his races are a little better each time. Destin should be sitting on his big race

I don't like SA derby horse at all, he ran a huge race last time out, he smells like a huge bounce off of that.

As you said earlier, there is no clear cut favorite in my mind. I know a ton of people are screaming Nyquist.

I have not seen a dominant horse like Pharoah last year yet. Watching him in the Rebel, Southwest, and Arkansas you knew he was special.
