Jerry jones has run this franchise into the ground. Trading away top picks for roy Williams, drafting idiots like dez Bryant and Martel us Bennett and signing guys like scandrick and sensebaugh to big contacts. He just does not get it. This team has gotten owned on the offensive and defensive lines for several years now. They need three new o lineman and two more legit impact players on the d line. Their secondary sucks all around but when you have to cover for five or six seconds on each play you will get exposed no matter your talent.

They are in no mans land. It is going to take several years of smart talent acquisition to fix this mess. I just don't see it.

Jerry looked dazed in his postgame interview. Dazed and old. Like it hadn't really sunk in that his team's season was over. Quite a different image from the sideline roaming owner during Jimmy Johnson's tenure.

What is troubling is his comment that stated as late as the third quarter of the giants game he still believed this core group could go deep into the playoffs. He has severely over rated the talent on this team. He can't be that blind but he is.

Do most people assign the rebuilding of that franchise an subsequent success after Jones bought it to Jimmy Johnson? It seems like they've just kind of bumped along since. I don't really follow the Cowboys though.

I hope he lets his son start to take over general manager decisions. He will never hire someone else, but I can at least hope his son will be better.

Jerry lucked into the big 3 but other than that, his GM skills are garbage

I think you have to. Jones did bring him in and give him a fair amount of control, but it was Jimmy who picked the players and built the team.

Granted, he had a sh*tton of high picks due to their shitty record and the Walsh and Walker trades, but they made out like bandits.

The reason the big three were so damn good was because of the offensive and defensive lines. They were dominant. Jerry doesn't get it that the lines are the most critical positions on the team.

Are you a Cowboys fan or just an informed observer? I'm the latter, and am always interested in what Dallas fans think about Romo. He's CLEARLY a talented QB - I'd argue a few signature wins away from being elite - but there's the rub. I get a Bledsoe vibe from him, and by that I mean a guy who by all rights should be a terrific QB but for some reason or another isn't a winner.

Welcome to 1997. They've only won one playoff game since then.

Since then the franchise has brought in guys like Chan Gailey, Dave Campo, Ryan Leaf, Drew Henson, Drew Bledsoe, Terrell Owens and my favorite, Quincy Carter.

Fan. Romo is not elite but he above average and you can win with him if you build a defense and running game. Honestly without him they win four games this year

it was time for jerry to step back and hire a GM 10 years ago ... if the old fool can't step back and look at the big picture since beating the steelers in the super bowl with switzer as HC .. then he is a bigger idiot than i thought he was -- football-wise ..

what is amazing about romo .. is that once the cowboys lose, we all want to pin it on him .. then you look at his numbers from that particular game and realize he played well enough to win ... sunday night is a prime example .. look at his numbers with the hurt hand ... i think the universal hatred for romo and using him as the eternal scapegoat when the cowboys lose or fail to reach the playoffs over the last five or so years has just masked a lot of the real personnel and front office issues ..

How the Lions made out like bandits in that Roy Williams trade is still beyond me. Keep up the good work jerrah...

The more Jerrah hears this the tighter he'll try to control everything. The Dallas media is saying the same thing this week. It won't matter.

and as long as cowboys fans keep forking over four and five figures for season tickets .. gobbling up merchandise .. packing cowboys stadium, etc. .. where is his incentive to change ?? the media isn't going to do it ... hell have that billion dollar stadium paid off in no time .. jerrah and the jones family is raking in bank off of the cowboys .. until he starts to feel it in his pocket, he will never change ..

Dude can flat out sling it and he has COMPLETE control of the 10 other guys on the field at all times. I agree the problem is elsewhere.
