i caught myself wanting to laugh at romo for the loss sunday as well as the basic choke .. then i looked at his numbers from the game and realized if drew brees put up those numbers in a win, we'd be bowing to him .. so i looked back on his numbers all season long .. and the dude had a pretty damn good season .. and let's not forget the fourth quarter comeback, on the road, with broken ribs, spitting up blood at san francisco against that defense ... he doesn't do that, sunday would have been moot anyway ..

Romo is the scapegoat. He's a good QB. The team loses because their lines suck and their secondary is the worst I have ever seen. You can have long debates over which guy sucks the most - but they all suck. The secondary is garbage.

nothing will change (period)

jones has the keys to a multi-billion dollar empire, and he is the emperor. if anyone should be sacrificed this year, it should be the secondary coach: Dave Campo

but even that shite isn't going to happen:
quote:

The hiring of Dave Campo as secondary coach for the Cowboys on January 29, 2008 marked the return of one of the most talented and loyal coaches in the history of the Cowboys organization.

As an assistant coach with the Cowboys in the 1990s, Campo played a key role in the development of Dallas teams that made eight playoff trips, won six division titles and claimed three Super Bowl titles. He worked his way up to the head coaching position for the Cowboys, a post he held for three seasons from 2000 to 2002, before moving on to assistant coaching stops with the Cleveland Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Now in his 18th year of service to the Dallas Cowboys, Campo's coaching tenure with the organization is exceeded by only four other men in club history. The secondary in Campo's third season back was led by Terence Newman and Gerald Sensabaugh, who tied for the team lead with five interceptions each. Both defensive backs also established single-season personal-bests with the five thefts.

In 2009 - his second season back with the Cowboys - Campo's secondary was highlighted by second-year man and former first round draft pick Mike Jenkins' team-leading five interceptions and first Pro Bowl selection. Newman, who earned his second career Pro Bowl selection, finished second on the team with three interceptions as Campo's defensive backs accounted for 10 of the club's 11 interceptions on the season.

yes, cowboys fans are fricked for years to come.

Tony Romo finished 4th in overall passer rating among QBs. He is not the problem.

While I have no doubt Payton eventually makes his way to Dallas, Brees has got some good years left in him. I don't think Payton leaves NOLA until Brees retires.

And agreed on Romo. He is an above average QB that over half the league would trade for no questions asked.

They have maybe four guys that other teams would want to have

Romo
Sean lee
Ware
Tyron smith.

The rest are hot garbage or mediocre

Right, the contract end dates for Brees and Peyton will mirror each other. Peyton most likely won't coach another QB. When Brees retires, Peyton moves to Dallas to be GM. just some insight I received this weekend. Subject to change, of Course.

Sean Payton and Tony Romo are great friends, and something in the depths of my soul thinks that Payton really wants to come back to Dallas (especially his home in Westlake), but then I think how great Payton is for the City of New Orleans and how he has no reason at all to consider leaving for any amount of money.

You serious clark? Was it the same source who told you urban Meyer would be the next corch at Texas?

That way overstates it. The team is 8-8, they aren't completely devoid of talent. They have an above average receiving corps and DeMarco Murray looks like a legit running back. In fact, his injury was the key play of the season.

But, God. their o-line and secondary just suck out loud.

the problem is clearly on defense .. victor cruz made them look like a bunch of idiots with concrete in their cleats on that underneath route that he broke for the TD down the sideline .. on offense .. they are fine .. they do need help on the O-Line .. but austin, bryant, robinson, and witten are solid in the passing game .. jones is capable in the backfield and they found another gem in demarco murray ... fix the O-Line and the defense and they will be fine ..

First, Romo is an above average QB. I think the hate comes from the media attention he gets. He's not as good as Rivers or Brees, but get's more attention than them. He's a solid Matt Hasslebeck/Kerry Collins type QB. Good, but not elite.

Can't agree there. The team has talent. M. Austin, B. James, F. Jones (if healthy), J. Whitten, D. Murray, D. Bryant and M. Bennette are are pretty talented. Their offensive, defensive line and secondary are the real problems.

if the saints manage to win the super bowl again .. it only raises the bar in NOLA and i think you start seeing the same apathy down there that you do in the LSU fan base somewhat since the 2007 NC .. at that point .. what more can payton do here if he wins it twice ? at that time you move to a bigger, high profile, zero to hero challenge .. and dallas would be perfect .. jason garrett is a good OC .. not an HC..

The only reason they won eight games is the crappy schedule they played. They were swept by the giants and eagles and pulled out two squeakers Washington.

They beat one team with a swimming record and that was the miracle come back at San francisco.

This team is bad.

Ryno, not same source...My wording on that Urban Meyer rumor was facetious but I do believe that Urban was UT's No. 1 target. Once Tressel got canned, everything changed.
