re: Why do girls not like short guys? - TejasHorn
I watched a documentary once about dating and why we choose our mates. They went to one of those speed dating lunches where you have 5 minutes with 10 people, and had them fill out a questionnaire afterwards. The only thing that was significantly correlated with the womens' desire for a 2nd date...

re: Difference between roads in Texas and Louisiana - TejasHorn
Texas has tried to keep up with the population boom but it's an uphill battle. Congestion in Austin and north Dallas is suffocating. But the new 635 In Dallas is :pimp: with those express lanes. Like riding on air....

re: What's the biggest "dead" rivalry? - TejasHorn
because UT's football program is hot garbage.
Uh, Texas has beaten OU 2 of the last 3 years and the loss was very close. Of course Texas - a&m is up there, along with OU- Nebraska. In pro sports it's probably Dodgers - Yankees historically speaking....

re: Microsoft to acquire LinkedIn for $26.2 billion. - TejasHorn
LinkedIn can be pretty useful for finding job candidates and business contacts - depending on the industry. Of course it can also be a distraction like anything else... competing with Facebook and everything else for the "share of distraction." ...

re: Note George H.W. Bush Left For Bill Clinton On His Last Day In Office - TejasHorn
H.W. had his faults, but the first gulf war was highly supported and justifiable at the time. He didn't try to "nation build" like his son's disaster in Iraq. He was also the victim of a natural recession that occurs in a market economy every few years. Really wish H.W. would've gotten 4 more y...

re: How do other states handle Public vs Private in HS football? - TejasHorn
Texas private schools have never really placed an emphasis on recruiting star athletes, and trying to be dominant in football. It's contrary to the culture of the state but a lot of parents/students are happy to keep it that way. As far as the public schools, there is plenty of recruiting go...

re: Obesity Rate in US Women Climbs to 40.4% - TejasHorn
Blame Chipotle for ushering in fast casual and faux "healthy" eating. Tack on 300 calorie mocha lattes from Starbucks and here we are. That and brunch. The popularity of brunch among house fraus has added at least 3 points to that BMI. It's an excuse to gossip and pig out on quiches and such....

re: The Impossible task of the Republican Candidate for President of the US - TejasHorn
You can blame the media and keep your head in the sand, but Hillary would've been easy pickins. Yet the GOP nominated a demogogue who frightens large segments of voters and most of our allies. Just look at Hispanics. Most of their values align well with the GOP....
