RIP, buddy.

Will was a super bright guy and we shared some mutual friends. I'm glad he got to pass the CFA Level 3 before his passing. I can only imagine it was one of the high points for him. Will miss his posts and damn what a reminder of the fragility of life.

Yep, big reason I got out of the field of personal finance, it just takes a toll on you physically and mentally.

Y'all there's a dude on the OT bawling his eyes out at the memories that have been brought back for him .. This info was also put on OT. I feel awful.

Pretty similar situation just happened to a friend of mines cousin.

Graduated with honors from SMU and was in Cox Business School of Alternative Asset Management. Sam situation, unbelievably bright and going places only for to end all too soon.

Words from his high school English teacher about Will:

When Will was in my class, he had a running joke of hiding my stapler. On top of things, in random places. One day, my bright pink stapler was hanging from the ceiling. When he went to get it down for me, it fell to the ground and cracked.
Years later, he showed up in my classroom with a fancy one touch pink stapler. He was funny and kind and generous and told me he owed me a stapler.
Teaching kids like William makes my job fun and worthwhile at times and hard and devastating at times like these. ?? Praying for peace for his family.

I am very sorry to see this, he was a great contributor and always enjoyed his two cents on MT matters.

Many blessings to his family, this is tough to hear.

RIP Flask

Indeed. We tended to post on different types of topics, so I don't recall having much of any direct interactions with him as a poster, but I could always sense that he seemed like an upright guy. Tragic news.

Like I said on the OT, banking/finance comes with rewards, but not without sacrifice.

Congrats to him for passing CFA Level 3, I went through that myself.

Apparently more was going on though. I won't comment on it here, this was covered on the OT thread. Very sad - both that he didn't think he'd get the support he would need by opening up and also that he chose to resolve it this way instead.

Not much to say other than he always seemed intelligent and thoughtful here. I always stopped to read his posts. Far too young, for sure.
