Well either I totally misread the original obituary OR it was changed. He had a fiance and a child. Oh shite.
(eta this was NOT in what I saw obit posted on FB)

eta How can I be so freaking sad over the death of someone I "knew" from a message board???

Man that is tough to hear. I don't come around here much anymore, but back when I was a regular, I always valued his opinion. We had some great debates back in the day. Prayers sent to his family and friends.

Holy shite.

I'll unhide my flask so I can drink to you. Then, of course, I'll hide it again.

Strange...he didn't seem the type, but you never know what's going through people's heads, even IRL.

So sad, prayers out to him and his family.

Makes you want to tell your friends and family everything will be alright eventually and you there for them even in what may seem like the worst of times.

Like I said on the OT, banking/finance comes with rewards, but not without sacrifice.

That's so tragic.

I enjoyed reading his posts, and he always came across like a good guy and level-headed. His obit just underscores that he was a giving person and a loss to the community. It's such a shame.

Prayers for his family and friends - I can't imagine what they are going through.

cwill, SFP posted this on OT:

I think the saddest people always try their hardest to make people happy because they know what it’s like to feel absolutely worthless and they don’t want anyone else to feel like that.

Former co-worker of mine. Needless to say it was a huge shock yesterday when they broke the news to the department he was part of most recently. My manager hit me with the news out of the blue yesterday...big shock.

For those that didn't know him personally, he was a great guy. Very friendly and outgoing and incredibly smart.

Lots of CPA partners on their second or third or fourth marriages with kids who hate them.

Finance isn't much better.

Flask was a personal friend of mine and was somebody who would truly give the shirt off his back for anyone, not to mention a sharp finance mind. He had just passed Level 3 - a monumental achievement - so this is all a really big surprise. I don't know what kind of demons he was battling, but at least he is at peace now.

Cheers, brother!! You will be missed!

Sucks to hear....

He was the guy that always talked about "yield pigs" in relation to people looking for dividend stocks, right?

Not sure. I've been inactive on this board for a while, but he, Russian, JT, kfizz and myself used to all post regularly on this board (and a few of us knew each other IRL). Really just shocked more than anything. He was a happy go lucky guy who seemed to really love life. I can't even fathom how one can even prepare for (much less pass) CFA being in that kind of state of mind, so this really is just a huge surprise.

I hoped to meet THF in real life one day. Smart guy, great poster. I had great respect for him starting from my lurking days. I even took some classes at LSU because of some of his old posts in the OT. I'm going to miss him a lot.
