Wish I knew how to post pics here ... my grandfather was a pilot on D-Day over Normandy. One of a handful selected to fly with the Royal Air Force; flew a Spitfire. eta: someone posted the true fact that the mission was to be for June 5. My grandfather was sick with some type of ear issue ... ...

Good morning ... my grandfather was a pilot over Normandy on D-Day. He was one of a handful selected to fly with the Royal Air Force and flew a British spitfire. Miss him and wish I'd have spent more time with him. I do remember him saying he wasn't scared but maybe a little concerned. WTH?? ...

Well there is a neat little zoo in Broussard .. kids may like that. There is a blueberry picking place not far from Broussard (google bayou blues broussard). Children's museum in Lafayette but probably not good for the 12 yo. There's truly not much to do in Lafayette ... airboat tour of the Atc...
