Should I redeem through chase or transfer to partner? Tia

You should look into the partner transfers. You will probably do a lot better than that especially premium econ seats. Check this site out there are other sites that will show the cost in points for partner if you have points other than chase. Dont forget to check flights from nearby airports.

I think your only Prem Econ option on this route is through BA, which I think you generally want to avoid. And you don't have enough for biz. I will concede though, I don't know that much about Prem Econ options bec I never look into those. I could suggest though - that buying an Econ ticket and selecting a preferred seat/prem econ seat may be the way to go.

What dates are you looking at? Does it have to be VCE? Is MXP, FCO or FLR an option?

There is an option for prem Econ on British from msy to London that's the only leg I'm really concerned with having it. I'm open to other options in Italy as we will be driving around the country anyways. Just looking for options that my points can almost cover the entirety, even though that may not be an option if I want the prem economy. Just figured we would splurge some since it is our honeymoon

I'm looking at either 5/19 - 6/1 or 5/26 - 6/8

I'm guessing you wouldn't be looking to apply for another card? You are ~100K away from 2 biz tix.

But again, like I said, Prem Econ on BA will cost you over $500 in taxes and fees PLUS the points. A way better proposition is to book econ tix through miles and choose an Econ+/Prem Econ seat. This will cost you about the same per person $250ish pp each way plus the miles.

Any great promotions out right now?

Just closed my Reserve to avoid the $450 fee. They didn’t even try to keep me. At least Amex Platinun offered to reduce fee down to $200 when I cancelled that, Chase didn’t offer shite.

Planning on SW cards for Companion in Dec.

Thinking of the Amex Platinun again if I can find the 100k offer

I just look to lists like this: Milenerd

I'm just staying quiet right now. Setting my wife up for Companion Pass attempt this month. I'd like to get myself near the 5/24 rule myself.

I should be burning about 280k American miles here soon.

Been focusing more on making sure I squeeze out my current Chase UR bonus categories efficiently.

If I create an EIN for my wife to get companion pass, I could see an onslaught of applications to occur.

Just to update this thread because so many helped me out, left Tokyo for Nikko last night. The Hyatt Regency might be the best value I’ve ever gotten at a hotel for points, and when you add the club upgrade, I think it runs away with the distinction. Breakfast and cocktail hour easily made the upgrade worth it before you even consider the nicer room and club concierge access.

Thank you for the advice, good sirs

We flew out of BTR the morning of Halloween and got into NRT around 2pm on the 1st. Spent a few days in Tokyo, then traveled to Nikko last night. Doing a day in Nikko then on to Hakone for a couple of days, then to Kyoto.

While it’s all been amazing thus far, I think the highlight for me has been doing the Asakusa temple district on Culture Day. The mass of people moving between the district shops on the road up to Senso-ji temple was pretty incredible.

I'll have to google that.

Will await the travel board review.

I currently have the Chase Freedom, Chase Freedom Unlimited, and Chase Sapphire Reserve. The Unlimited and CSR Have been open less than a year, so I’m looking to take advantage of a couple more cards.

I don’t have a business, so I figured the Ink is out of the question. Looking at milenerd, the Chase Marriott Rewards and IHG Rewards standout. However, reading the terms leads me to believe that I can’t transfer them to the Chase CSR, which is where I think I’d get my most usage. And advice from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

Any thoughts here on the Delta AE cards? Is 70-80k miles worth the effort?

You are correct.

My wife and I both have the IHG card but we don't put any spend on it. We pay the $49 annual fee x 2 for the free night certs.

2 nights are gonna run you $150 a night at least so that's the value proposition for us.

Useful for attending out of state weddings or short weekend trips.

I wouldn't prioritize it over any Chase UR cards due to 5/24 but if you're just getting it for the few hundred dollars then sure.

the disadvantage of having such a young girlfriend

I can't wait to stack IHG cards on top of my Hyatt.

I just hit my 1 year anniversary on Chase UR card, but don't have any other rewards cards opened in the last 2 years.

I prefer Delta due to all of the nonstop flights out of RDU.
