I had the sw premier card for a few years too and decided to sign up for the plus card when I saw the 60k point bonuses and companion pass posts here. I cancelled the premier and reapplied a couple days later. Bad idea. I was denied. I got the 60k point bonus from the plus last month and reapplied for the premier last week and was approved. I will have the companion pass for the last three mothis of this year, just need to spend 1k for the 40,000 bonus to put me over the 110k needed. I've read about people not being awarded their points in the calendar year when earned so I wouldn't want to be scrambling for points at the end of the year if I could avoid it.

got the coveted 100k offer for Amex Platinum. Think I'm gonna just hold out for CSR though :/

That's tough. With their recent report about the card being unprofitable, might not be much of one if any at all.

That offer was unreal. I got the 100K points, $600 in travel credits and the other perks for $450. After paying the $450 AF, I was still ahead like $1,800. That was a no brainer and I feel like that card was churner centric so most people weren't carrying balances.

What's the play on this card? Are most people churning it?

For the second year it'll be $150 after the $300 annual travel credit. Is $150 worth it?

Got the Amex 100k offer recently, but don't feel like coughing up ~$500 for it.

So I guess it comes down to whether or not you can rack up $150 worth of rewards points?

Pretty much, but also how much you would use the priority pass. You also have to figure in that your points are worth more with the reserve too when using the Chase portal.

I forgot to mention, that I also got a free TSA Precheck with the card too.

I keep forgetting to get my TSA precheck. I went in to get it in they needed my original birth certificate and not a certified copy or some shite. So I couldn't file for the TSA precheck.

Hard to value this with a $ tag, but I definitely have got a ton of value out of it.

I'm going to get to use it for the first time next week over in Orlando. My layover is an hour and a half.

I don't fly often unfortunately. Is everything free in those lounges? Also, what is guest policy? I have two friends traveling with me that aren't Priority Pass members. Will they be able to go in with me?

This is such an incredible value. I don't really give any value to the priority pass, as it wouldn't be something I would buy otherwise. But for me, the card is worth the effective $150 fee just based on the portal.

I have a question on the ur portal for anyone really. I'm looking at booking a 15th anniversary trip next July. Just kinda keeping an eye on prices for the time being. But my question is on the rooms available at all inclusive resorts.

Looking at Excellence Riviera Cancun, they show rooms that don't say anything about being all inclusive and don't really give any kind of explanation of the room besides Spa junior suite. But they do have some rooms that are more per night that give a detailed room description and actually say all inclusive. I don't even know if excellence offers non all inclusive, they don't on their website anyway. Has anyone booked a room similar to this somewhere that doesn't specifically say all inclusive when it actually is?

If you're looking at all inclusives in Cancun, I suggest looking at the Hyatt Zilara there and instead of "paying with points", transferring your UR points to Hyatt and booking.

But as always, check the list price against the points needed, but it should work out way in your favor.

Depends on the lounge and not normally. Yes, there will be free food and drink but premium of either costs money.

Your guests will be allowed in with you for a fee. $27 each.

Are you talking about a specific lounge?

I will say the guesting policy is highly fluid and differs from lounge to lounge. Kind of a PITA really from a consumer perspective.

Guested without issue in Lima.

That's straight from the Priority Pass website.

ETA: Not personal experience. I generally go into Admiral's Club or Centurion Club.

Ya, I've read that too. It isn't completely applicable across the board with CSR Priority Pass. Unfortunately you may have to walk across an airport to find out if you are paying or not.

Yeah I've thought about the hyatt there but we aren't really wanting to stay in cancun hotel zone area.

We've really been looking on the outskirts like playa mujeres, maroma, and riviera areas. Just trying to plan how many points i'm gonna need to get it booked.

Ah gotcha.

As for points needed to book, with CSR it is always dollars divided by .015.
