The state of LSU basketball as of 2/7/2016, come on in and see the truth...

This post is mostly for the folks that only see what they want to see, point out the negatives and IMO should take a step back and rethink their narrative.
We all know that narrative by now, LSU needs killer instinct, doesn't play start to finish, can't close out games. There is some truth to that, but that's a truth for all of college basketball. LSU is no different in this regard. Top 25 teams come out flat, start slow, lose with 20 point leads, etc.
Now let's look at LSU objectively:
1. LSU is 15-8 OA and 8-2 in SEC play. Good for #1 SEC standings after 10 of 18 games.
2. LSU is 8-3 in their last 11 games. The losses have been @UF by 6, @TAMU by 14, v.OU by 2.
3. Two of those teams are/were Top 10 in the nation. The other is UF that rolled SEC officiating into a win.
Let's again look objectively at LSU's Nov/Dec 7-5 OOC record:
1. LSU went 4-3 with Hornsby out with injury.
2. In Hornsby's first game back, he scored 32, but LSU loses and goes to 4-4.
3. Craig Victor makes his appearance next game. LSU with Hornsby and Victor win to go 5-4.
4. Including that game, LSU's record since then is 11-4.
5. Point being, LSU started 4-4 and has gone 11-4 since then with all hands on deck and still learning how to play together and find their roles.
For me, get on the wagon now. We have 2 tough games upcoming. Be a fan and see the truth.

That Wake Forest loss at home with a full squad looks awful right now.
I'm thrilled about where this team is right now, but that OOC performance will be by far the worst of any bubble teams. I'd be happy with 13-5, that should get them in.

Not seen by most naysayers, LSU is quite good stat-wise in SEC.
I think the next few weeks will show all doubters stats are no joke.

Non conference record will not hurt this team. It's like some of yall have never followed college basketball before. The committee will ignore it for the most part. Whether it's fair or not they judge you for the team you are going in. If you were missing players early they will give you a pass. It happens every single year.

They will not totally ignore it. They will cut LSU some small slack but to say they will ignore it is incorrect. If that was the case, LSU would be a 3 seed or better. They have no shot at that. LSU will be seeded anywhere from 6-8 with a good finish to the regular season, or 8-10 if we stumble a bit down the stretch.

Stunning turnaround once the calendar flipped to 2016. The one glaring omission on LSU's resume right now is that they only have one (2 if you want to count Vandy) good win. Huge opportunity this week to fill that gap.
2-0 would be great, but 1-1 is a must. Can't give the committee any reason to keep LSU out

LSU has played much better recently and I'm excited, still work to do of course, but I'm much more confident we make the tourney.

they will take both into consideration, but missing two of your three best players for the start of the season will be heavy on the mind of the committee.

I've been on the wagon from Day 1......but dont jinx us man.
This week is absolutely crucial. 2-0.....we're a lock.....0-2....i cant even think about it.

The truth as always been win 19 maybe even 18 games and in the tourney .... There is no way the committee leaves Ben Simmons out. Now they are heading toward 20 wins and becoming a lock

i went down the top 35 ranked sites on bracket matrix. the ones that are active have lsu on the bubble now. only 1 or 2 have the tigers actually in. granted, some haven't been updated in a few days but, that accurately sums up where the tigers are - on the bubble. of course, it took winning 12 of 17 against the bottom half of the conference to get there.
from everything i've been hearing/reading, lsu's situation is
1. record vs s.o.s. - improved but, still work to do
2. rpi - tigers need help here. lsu dropped a few spots to 75 despite beating auburn and state
3. signature road win and overall road record - keep taking care of business and at least split uk/scar
icing - have more than 1 or 2 top 50 wins when it's all said and done
for lsu to have gone from dead to on the bubble is encouraging. the media narrative certainly has changed and lsu will need that perception boost for the committee.
5 of the next 8 games are against the top half of the conference. lsu can really make a statement and force the committee to include lsu regardless of simmons and the missing starters sympathy vote.

Is Ben, TQ and Darcy the sirens?

On espn's bpi page its nice to see LSU listed as" In- Projected Auto Bid".

Lsu has done a great job in sec play but the poor out of conference will hurt their seeding and chances. Every week is a big week for these guys as they still have work to do to get in. Last week was really nice in that they took care of business and won two games comfortably against bad teams. This week is a chance to get some big wins. Agree that 1-1 is needed, 2-0 would be huge.

Since bpi was mentioned lsu's bpi is number #52 right now but if you look to how good they are with all players (11-4) their bpi is an 82.0 which would make them #24 on overall bpi
