There is a reason "Last 10 games" is always on a list of tournament resumè. Sure, we lost a couple of games we definitely shouldn't have, but we are rolling now. We lost in OT (twice), and by 1 all without 2 starters. That matters more than a "small amount." Marquette has proved to be a quality big east team, and Houston beat SMU at home. We lost to NC State because in overtime we didn't have Simmons, Hornsby, or Victor playing. Take the top 3 away from any team and they will be quite different.

Everyone wants to look at these projections to get a feel, but reality is they go off of RPI and conference and SOS. Last year we were worried we would even make the tourney after a terrible loss against auburn in the sec tourney...and we were a 9-seed. The committee's job is to take the BEST teams available. Not just look at worthless resumès. LSU is as talented as almost any team in the country, and they will get more leeway because of it

there are a handful of people who have flamed me non stop for looking at the projections so, it's not everyone

and this year's resume is not as good as last year's, not yet. the tigers are definitely trending in the right direction though

worthless resumès
resume is basically 100% of the tourney talk in feb. record vs s.o.s., good wins/bad losses, road record, rpi, last 10 games, etc

WHOA STOP RIGHT THERE. tommy swears up and down that lsu's recruiting classes aren't "super dominating" despite having a 3 year average in the top 20.

Very valid points. Also didn't help to lose Patterson for several games. Hurt the guard depth, especially since it coincided with Blakeney's early-season struggles. I believe that with his whole team together from game one, JJ would have them roughly 18-5. The Nc2a committee will look at some of those early losses from the "what-if" perspective IMO. Main thing now is to continue improvement and they'll be just fine. Still think they finish something like 14-4 in the SEC which should get them into the dance with room to spare.

If Blakeney has turned the corner officially, this team can run the table in SEC. Would not be shocked with 16-2. With him and Hornsby knocking them down outside, it just opens things up inside. Even makes it easier for Q to drive the lane. The inside-out game is dangerous and can carry you a long way in the tourney. Guards are so crucial for making a deep run. Blakeney is the key imo.

There is a decent chance we lose all of the road games left and that will put us at 4-4 the rest of the way, ending up at 12-6 in conference play and 19-12 overall. Will that be enough to get in without at least one win in the SECT? I doubt it- not with all those really bad losses to haunt us.

Exactly, which is why pumping sunshine after beating two of the worst teams in the sec is silly.

What they do in the next 8 games is more indicative of what this team is capable of, not what they've done so far. Going 4-4 wouldn't be good, and based on their past, is very likely. They could go 3-5 and it wouldn't be surprising.

If they've really made a turn, and are really playing better, they should go 5-3 at worst.

These past two games have showed us nothing that we already know. That we are very talented.
If blakeney keeps it up, this team can be very dangerous.

I don't think he's pumping sunshine because of the past 2 wins I think it's more because we are in first and past the halfway point in the sec schedule. Nonetheless we have to continue

Sakerleena is gonna be s really good measuring stick for this team. We are seemingly firing on all cylinders (at least in terms of what we do well) and they are a good team plus its away from home. If Victor stays out of foul trouble i think that may be LSU's X factor

I've been on the wagon, just hope they show more consistency. And this has been true with all of JJs teams, not just this season.

So you just ignored the OP and decided to say it's very likely we go 4-4 or 3-5 ROS.

No mind that we're 8-2 SEC and have the best road record in the SEC, haven't lost an SEC game at home and ROS get 4 at home and 4 on the road.

Typical. Your ilk can't even step back and appreciate where we stand now without crystal ball souring on the ROS.

Non conference record will not hurt this team.

You're dreaming if the committee will totally ignore losses to Wake Forest, Marquette, NC State, Houston & Charleston. These losses are the exact reason we are considered barely in right now.

Remember back in 2009 when we won the SEC at 13-3 and ended up a 8 seed? Weak non conference (and we lost a couple games in it)...and we did better then than we are doing now. Now the SEC is SLIGHTLY better now than then, but if we finish something like 13-5 in the conference, we'll be at best an 8 or 9 seed.

Why is this necessary for you to be a fan of the team?

USCe hasn't lost a home game the entire season. Now for LSU to win you over they have to do something that hasn't been done?

Beating USCe on Wednesday is not unrealistic, but the bar some of you set is foolish.

The committee will know full and well what I stated in the OP.

LSU is 11-4 since having a full lineup and 8-3 since 2016. If season ended today, I'd stake my entire posting reputation that LSU would be in the NCAAT with absolute worst 11 seed. I think it would be 8-9 now.

With 8 games left prior to SECT, LSU can solidify it's place. The point of the OP is LSU has been trending up the last 15 games, last 11 games in 2016, SEC play.

LSU is the only SEC team to be undefeated in SEC home play and have a winning SEC road record.

I didnt talk about being a fan. The topic said, come in and see the truth, and my response was "if they win @ USCe, I am all in on the truth, else I'll be cautiously optimistic". I am always a fan!!

Idk where to put this but this seems like a fun thread.

In lunardi's bracket we are still a 10 seed but he moved us off the bubble.

that is true. however, 7 of the 8 wins came against the bottom half of the conference. 5 of the next 8 are against the top half. the tigers will let everyone know if they are real.

most predictors i have been watching had 4 sec teams in the tourney and lsu wasn't one of them. now, i'm seeing 5 sec teams with lsu being the 5th. the tigers can take matters into their own hands and force the committee to include them
