His time has come and gone. I've never liked him as a coach and never will. He never beat Mack Brown while at Oklahoma State (0-4) and he also lost the SEC championship in his first season. That's his legacy to me

WTF? Can't tell if serious and I could care less if he ever beat Mack Brown. Please STFU if you are serious. If not serious, still STFU.

it were as simple as having the best players, we'd have a shite ton more national titles. He hasn't proven he can recruit a class of players, coach them up, and motivate them to win a national championship.

What? You do realize that every single player on that 07 team spent more time under Miles than Saban right?

The best coach in cfb ( saban) with by far the most talent (6 of the last 7 recruiting classes were ranked #1) LOSES EVERY YEAR.

Holy shite. 2014 has proven to be the outlier. We finished in the top 15 4 of the last 5 seasons and have finished in the top 10 6 of Miles' 10 seasons.
I hate our ignorant and entitled fan base.

I wonder how many of these jackasses actually attended a class at LSU. I'd like to think admission standards would exclude them.

What does this have to do with anything?????

IF you go to class at LSU you can't say anything bad about the team?????

Caught one! I've never understood why some folks affiliate so strongly with a program of a school that they never attended and then proceed to tear the program down on this forum. Dukke, are you one of those? Their opinions mean nothing to me.

Exhibit A: Alabama. I know many gumptards that live and die for that program who've never even set foot on the campus.

One game dosent make season or career.

Oh, but to some of these jackasses it does. I will refrain from naming a particular date in LSU history.

Anyone who hasn't been entertained over the last 10 years just can't have much fun being alive. The highs and lows we've experienced in this timeframe is more than most fanbases could ever expect in a lifetime, and we're ALWAYS (did I do that right PJ?) in the hunt for a title. I credit Coach Miles, his staff and the players for the most exciting decade of LSU football I've witnessed.

My first game in Tiger Stadium was in 1964.

Has Saban retired? Is he not the coach for one of our division rivals? Just wondering why he is so often taken out of the equation when judging other coaches

Saban is the best coach in CFB....Nobody, including Miles, is better. But everytime someone disses Miles it's at the expense of Saban.

Miles has been pretty damned great at LSU and most people can't enjoy it and hate him.

To each his own

BTW who should we have brought in instead of Miles?????????

fricking this. Every single person I ask this question to NEVER has an answer for me. Miles was the right guy, right time. He has done incredible things for the school I love and I am grateful that he has done what he has.

There was a nice article posted a year or so ago about the process of actually acquiring Les and in it Skip talked about EVERY year after 2000, Saban was always weighing other coaching options (most of them in the NFL) and LSU had to fight to keep him for as long as we did...

The ONLY time LSU ever had to "fight" to keep CLM was in '07 when Kirk dipshite Herbstreit miss-reported Les going to Michigan.

He loves being here. He loves winning, which is just about all he's ever done, and we are lining up one of the best recruiting classes we've ever had for 2016, after a talent-stacked 2015 roster.

frick the haters. lets go win a few more Nattys...

The pumpers think this is safe harbor for their position, as they continue to ignore obvious symptoms of a suspect program. It's a convenient but weak defense. You could just as easily speculate that it could have gone the other way. To say that CLM was the best candidate at the time is simply argumentative. Would you have picked him then with what you know today - including Saban's long coat tails??

Only in the mind of an idiot is 4 out of 5 seasons finishing top 15, a suspect program. In what world is finishing top 15 8 out of 10 seasons suspect?
I've never seen a fan base turn FACTS about a coaches tenure into being a sunshine pumper. Stating facts is being biased. It's not my opinion that Miles has one of the best win % in sec history and the #1 ooc win % in sec history, IT'S A FACT. I'm not a sunshine pumper for stating facts. I'm a realist

I'm a realist too. How did we get to this point? Save the usual and over-used QB and NFL Draft crutches. It's still not enough to account for this. It just doesn't add up. Finish behind Marshall? Memphis? Air Force? Duke? I'm worried about the future of the program...

What do you want to hear? We were playing freshmen at damn near every skill position on offense. Magee and Hilliard notwithstanding, those that weren't freshmen were sophomores.

And you wonder why they struggled when matched against the juniors and seniors of SEC defenses?

The best description of south Louisiana is that it is "an asylum built on a sponge". Miles fits in so well with the rest of us crazies with his decisions that you're going to love him or hate him. There's no middle ground.

My comments had nothing to do with not supporting the program. All you made was excuses.
