a realist too. How did we get to this point? Save the usual and over-used QB and NFL Draft crutches. It's still not enough to account for this. It just doesn't add up

what? Yes it does. In 5 seasons LSU has lost 27 juniors to the nfl draft. By far the most of any program. The next closest program is Bama with 14. Last year our entire offensive skill position players had a combined 2 games started. We started the 6th most freshman in the country while playing in the hardest division in the hardest country. Our very inexperienced team coincided with team being very experienced. For example Miss st will be replacing these starting positions manned by all seniors:3 olineman, best rb, best wr,3 dlineman, best lb 3 of the 4 starting dbs.
The sec is not the conference you want to start freshman. To say this doesn't explain our 1 year drop off proves you don't understand how hard it is to win consistently. Posters on this site swear it's so easy to win 10 games every year when in fact it's very difficult to win 9 games every year. From 2009-2013 only 4 programs out of 126 won at least 9 games every year. FOUR. lsu was one of them . So stop acting like it's a birthright to win 10 games and being very inexperienced isn't a reason to finish behind teams that don't play near the competition we do.

Here we go again. With all the hardware we had in 2013 (ZM and all the early draftees), how close would we have come to making the playoffs (had the playoff system existed)??

This is the worst defense ever. It basically says that CLM struggles in CFB while having NFL talent. CLM is just an underachieving coach that half of the fan base will defend to the end

I heard much the same BS in 08. Only to have LSU win almost 85% of their games in the next 3 yrs., go undefeated in the SEC for the 1st time since 58, and play in the BCSNG. Pardon me if I don't wet my pants over another "obvious symptoms of a suspect program" claim.

Really??? Tell me how many programs have bettered 103 wins, 2 BCSCG appearances, and a NC since 05 while playing in the strongest division of strongest conference in college football?

Also, point out to me the list of LSU coaches in our 120 yr. football history who have been more successful in their time at LSU than Miles.

Sometimes our lack of appreciation for a job damn well done is just sad to see, but normal for the spoiled, entitled crowd.

he's the winningest coach in LSU history and one of the winningest coaches in SEC history.

he will likely end his career with the most wins in LSU history.

they say the same shite every year and pray that they're right. they'd rather see Les Miles lose than LSU win. they're the same ones that you never see post on this board after an LSU win but double their post count after a loss. they never got over Saban leaving and never will because thats when they started following LSU football.

That's not saying much. Until the last 14-15 years LSU history wasn't glamorous. The infrastructure that he has had success under was put in place by Saban. All he has done is the drive the car. What can you honestly say that CLM has done since 2011 to improve the chances to win the SEC West

Miles is a very good recruiter but, you can just about count on it... his team is going to lose at least one game a year that leaves you wondering why? He gets his team up for Bama every year but plays down to lower competition. He's not a very good gameo-day coach. He can be out-coached by the Saban's, Meyer's, Malzahn's.

LSU is 12th in all time wins in college football history. that didn't all happen in the last 15 years. do some research next time. So to say its "not saying much" only further proves your idiocy

this may be the dumbest argument on this board. Let me guess....you think anyone couldve come in and done what Miles has because "LSU recruits itself" and Saban has magic powers that has allowed LSU to win some much over the last ten years. Saban was great...but Dinardo actually started a lot of that. again...do some research.

he's been here 10 years...why did you pick 2011? nevermind...i already know the answer. FYI...we have the #1 recruiting class as of now and have had a top 6 class the last four years. i would say that improves the chances to win the SEC West.

you're only hurting your argument. it's like y'all starting following LSU in 1999

Are you retarded? If that line of thinking were true, Muschamp would've succeeded after Meyer. For Miles to step in after Saban and keep the program at an elite level and then to continue to do so after Saban went to Bama is the epitome of a great football coach. I don't know why I'm even posting this because if those that believe Miles isn't a good coach cannot see that, there is something wrong with their brain's processing capability.

Tell me what coaches in college football haven't been "out-coached" by those 3 and then tell me what coach in college football has more wins over those 3 than Miles?

Do you know how dumb this shite is??? Seriously??? For a guy who touts himself as one of the smartest posters on this site, this is just plain hogwash. It's petty and shallow. It's your stock answer when someone is criticizing Miles.
Yea...I want Miles to personally lose because that somehow helps the team win and get to the playoffs. There's no logic here. Yea...I want Miles to spaz out and make bone-headed in-game decisions cuz that definitely helps win close games.
Most definitely want miles to waffle on the QB situation cuz we're shooting for stability and consistency at this position and the waffling really helps to that end.
Oh and I definitely want Saban back cuz he's at the back-end of his career at Bama and has shown a propensity to make stupid in-game decisions just like ol Les and lose big games at the end. But if he comes back here he'll be just awesomeness. This all makes perfect sense and aligns nicely with the pumper rhetoric.

You know what most negas want???? I'll tell ya....and guess what??? It's not an undefeated season and NC while outscoring our opponents 480-0.
Maximizing the talent that we have here year in and year out....thats it!! If we could do that, we wouldn't see 8-5 records. We'd be better than 2-4 in our last six bowl games and we might own one or two more victories over Bama..only our most hated and despised rival.

Question for all pumpers.....going back to the 2011 season and moving forward to the present.

Given the exact same talent/players that we've had.....would Meyer or Saban have won more or less games here at LSU than Miles during this time period?

You can't even compare the 2 situations. Meyer left Florida in a real bad situation. Not even comparable

with our QBs? probably the same. although i do think Meyer is the best coach in college football

Here's where we totally agree. Meyer has easily surpassed Saban in his coaching abilities. Any guy that wins a NC with a third string QB has got to have something good going on.
Personally, I think Saban wins at about the same rate as Miles......Meyer maybe a little more because I think he develops QBs better than the other two and finds a way to win a few more games with the guys we've had.
