When he takes the field for the season opener against McNeese State it will be the 133rd time Les Miles has lead the LSU Tigers in a game as the head man in the high white hat. That is the second most games coached in the history of LSU football, a position Miles took when he coached the Tigers against Arkansas in the 2014 season in his 129th game moving him past Bernie Moore who coached in 128 games from 1935 to 1947.
And that sentence right there can pretty much sum up a great deal that is the Les Miles era.

His time has come and gone. I've never liked him as a coach and never will. He never beat Mack Brown while at Oklahoma State (0-4) and he also lost the SEC championship in his first season. That's his legacy to me

Wow, you must be an Oklahoma fan appearing as a tiger. What you said is only relevant for you not Miles legacy. Just when you think this board can not get any worse.

Nope I'm a tiger fan that's never agreed with the hire. Of all of the coaches that Bertman could have hire he picked a guy that was 2 weeks from being fired. LSU made CLM, he didn't make LSU

Who said he made LSU? While Miles has his faults, I will grant you that, he's sustained the football program from the Saban days to now and also has led that program to the most victories in a season in school history. Even Saban didn't do that. Even if you don't like the Miles, you have to give him credit for that.

Only Miles and Meyer have beaten Saban more than once, and I'm not even sure Meyer has. I know Meyer beat him in the playoffs but has Saban ever played Florida and lost when Meyer was there?

Yes, he has his faults but be realistic.

IMO this will be CLM's defining year, either we kick arse or we can expect 9 maybe 10 wins a year until he retires. It's gonna be really interesting how Harris and the defense plays. Those will be the keys to the season.

Tell me this. Seriously would like to know. In 2011, after the Georgia SECCG, and before 1/9, what were your thoughts on Miles specifically and LSU in general as a CLM lead LSU football team gave all of us the greatest regular season we could ever hope to enjoy?

Assuming you were old enough to read / follow sport back then, were you to busy griping about Lee / Jefferson to enjoy it?

Edit: otherwise, thanks a lot a-hole. It's now after 4 am, and now I've GOT to go read what is likely 700 plus of the dumbest post this board has ever seen.

And this, ladies and gents, has always been my point. For some LSU fans, there has never been anything the guy can do to win them over... To suggest all he'd have need to do was such and such is and always has been horseshite to a large portion of our fanbase. In the end, the guy wasn't Saban and therefore not the right guy.

Knowing that is really an issue, because when there are legitimate gripes about the program and the man running it, it's far too easy to ignore them as part of the maniacal tirades of jackasses like this who disliked the guy before he stepped foot on the filed in purple and gold.

It's why having a legit conversation about the state of the program is almost impossible...because the well has been poisoned by some since January of 2005.

Harder to win a NC now with the playoffs. Just ask Bama.

You know he's won 2 since then, right? This is a holocaust of retard.

You just said he failed you in his first year. What is this "time" you're referring to?
