I am sitting here in north Texas, so I am unable to watch the game, does MM have the speed of LL to cover CF, his bio says he does, and does he get a start this week end based on his performance tonight?????

If we face a lefty, I could see him getting the opportunity

Mahtook is a great athlete... He was the star Qb for STM's footballl team last year... Much like LL was at baker... They'd beat u with their legs

Leon Landry is a below average CF who strikes out way too much. Mahtook should get a chance on the weekend.

he's not below avg in CF, but average. The king of diving for balls he doesn't have to dive for.

Havent seen Mahtook in person, but im all for him pushing Landry. The best player should play.

Mahtook has very nice instincts on playing the ball in CF. He has the wheels to cut off the alleys and go back on the ball but I can honestly say all the times I saw him play in HS I don't ever remember him diving for a ball because frankly he didn't have to.

If I remember correctly from his football S&C testing he was a 4.45 40 guy

legit 5 tool player

Leon is the heart of the team and had been a catalyst on defense and offense

there is no denying how good he is on defense...and he has proven to be pretty clutch at the plate too.. doesn't he have 9-10 dingers now?

not much of the team is hitting well and hitting consistently right now...Leon will come around like he others. Dude is a ball player

Great to see Mikie show some flashes of his ability...I always liked the kid as an athlete from STM... but I'll take Leon in center right now and be plenty happy with it

Derby, Leon, besides his HR power, hasnt really gotten much better than last year. When he was just an adequate hitter as a FR.

He was basically all we had last year, so he played.

He has the tools to be a great player, hopefully he can put it together

Why not:

- Mitchell in LF
- Landry in CF
- Mahtook in RF

If Dean gets out of his slump, you could have him DH.

I hope you are right, but LL has been in a freefall and is striking out 2-3 times a game lately. His average is now down to .256 and he's struck out 21 times in 78 ABs, I think. The 21 Ks leads the team by far. And these numbers come after he was on fire the first couple of weeks, which means he has really struggled the last few weeks. Not ready to give up on him yet, but he has looked horrible at the plate as of late.

Agreed. I don't think it is time to call for a change yet, but I wouldn't mind seeing MM start against a lefty and seeing what he can do. He can't do much worse than LL has recently.
