Derby, Leon, besides his HR power, hasnt really gotten much better than last year. When he was just an adequate hitter as a FR.

none of our big sticks are swinging the bat well right now and the team collectively has been very inconsistent at the plate

Leon is just part of that shuffle ..he'll be fine

wasn't he also the MVP of the Ripken League this summer? Leon can play...and no denying his prowess in the outfield.. I don't buy all of those fake dives that you do... I have already seen several special catches from a kid who has only manned centerfield at LSU for not even a year and a half

So you're looking at:

RF - Mahtook
CF - Landry
LF - Mitchell
3B - Hanover
SS - DJ
2B - Schimpf
1B - Gibbs
C - Ochinko
DH - Dean? Haydel? Jones?

Near future? I thought it would be sometime after the Spring game? Anyhow...I hope he picks up where he left off...cause he was crushing the ball..

You guys didn't see the ball Mikie misplayed tonight. He took a very poor route on a ball that Leon could have made with ease. The guy had a great game, and should be given a chance. With that said he is not on the same level as Leon, so you can stop with that BS.

I saw it. Leon has misjudged the same type of hit this season as well.

4.3??? I seriously doubt that. When did you see him clocked at 4.3 or 4.4 for that matter??

Yes he consistently ran a 4.3 40 during football testing. I believe he ran a 4.4 for Sparq.

This is true. He took a bad angle on that ball that ended up as a double. He is young and it is too much to expect for him to step in and start at this time. He had a great game at the plate (his 3rd AB was a screamer up the middle that would have been a base hit most times) but it was only one game. That being said, LL has really struggled lately and I'd give MM a chance against a lefty this weekend and see what he can do.

I dont want Leon taken out of the lineup for Mahtook...but ya, Leon has definately had his share of misjudging fly balls.

Yea, I gotta call BS on that 4.3 too! Maybe it was aided by hurricane winds.
