I figured you didn't know this. I think that is probably why you caught some shite for saying it. His dad literally dropped dead on a tennis court several years ago.

How did you know that?

Know what?

If he is capable of running a 4.3, why isn't he on the football field. He's a solid 200 pounds huh?

He played the wrong position in high school. I agree he should be playing football.

A guy like Dean has a proven track record.

He didnt do much as a Frosh...and had a great year hitting ahead of Matt Clark last year. Clark is gone and so are the fast balls down the heart of the plate. This year without Clark, he looks just like he did as a freshman this year. In fact he's not even on pace for his freshman stats. Oh..and we really dont need him for his defense.

I grew up in Lafayette and still have family there. My nephew and MM are good friends. Strangely enough, one of the friends I sit with at the Box was telling the story tonight at the game. He was evidently playing doubles against his dad that day.

I don't care what your team's record is, that list is impressive- and as a freshman. I think we need to give Dean a break, he will start killing the ball before we know it. To be honest, I was hoping he would come to LSU as a pitcher. From what I understand, he was a great pitcher in high school but had shoulder problems.

They were OK...but you let Mahtook and Hanover and probably a few others play every day...their numbers would be alot better IMO.

he hit .316, he's hitting less than .240 right now, it's a slump, if you figure natural progression from his freshmen average, he's prob at least a .330 hitter right now who is in a slump

Funny, if you asked who the better hitter was last year, you'd get the answer Dean more than Clark. People were more afraid of Dean.

So, just for the record, most of you guys believe Dean isn't that great of a hitter, and he prob won't touch .300 this year?

I am not in this camp. I think Dean is great hitter and will rebound soon. He'll finish the year above .300 IMO.
