The game moves quick, the coaching ability to manage all aspects of the game at such a fast pace intrigues me. Hard as hell to do. For example, there were times Jones would be peacefully squatting on the sideline watching/analyzing the game. Something would happen & Musseleman & crew would storm from his chair and raise hell.

And you're just saying this because other have said it. This statement is bull. I saw many times when Jones was fired up on the sidelines last year. Show me a picture or two of the situation you mentioned then I'll believe you.

I like JJ. I'm just saying that if he doesn't win with this group coming in, when will he?

It truly is a now or never for him since three guys coming in are going pro in one season.

He's improved every year he's been here. He inherited an awful team with tons of open roster spots. In 2 short months he filled the roster. He brought us to the tournament for the first time in 6 years. Does he have his coaching issues? Yes certainly, but he's brought excitement back to LSU basketball. He's bringing in elite recruits mixed with solid role players as well. I'll take his coaching being average if he keeps bringing in elite talent. Basketball isn't like football, one player can take over a game at any point in basketball.

I don't need a coach fired up, but usually I would like to see him do something when the momentum is swinging... or to replace / rest a player who is struggling.

He's taken it to Twitter:

"can't wait to take the under in LSU's 2015 - 2016 win total prop."

However, it is funny how LSU seems to hire coaches who are great at recruiting and selling the university, yet can't coach X's and O's

he has not one good big man. Going to be an interesting team, but with no one to grab rebounds or play D in the paint, going to be tough to go very far. Going to take a great coaching job to make it work. I think he is going to make it work. But shouldn't have very high expectations for next season.

Wait. Wut?

Sampson is not a one and done, no doubt. Blakeney isn't even a lock for that matter.

Define "win". LSU is going to win a lot of games next season. Lots of great teams and great coaches get upset in the tournament. I don't think this is a "now or never" situation for a coach in his 4th season. LSU may never get a Ben simmons again, but it could potentially have a better team in the event the post doesn't develop

Just because Calipari has great, unbelievable talent year in and year out he's considered a GREAT coach. Play with 1 draft worthy player and don't win it all and he's a garbage coach. I'm on the JJ train and it's bringing me a final four next year!!!

It is actually a good point if JJ doesn't win this season. He has no excuses anymore.
He just lost the core of his team.

How many teams can be reasonably expected to do BETTER, after losing the 2 biggest stars on the team? They are being replaced with true frosh, and you are ready to give Johnny no slack.

frick, some of our fans are just shite. complete shite.

Lot's of arms folded and blank stares when the cameras find Johnny on the sidelines. I think that fuels some of the perception, whether that's fair or unfair.

I can only recall once where I saw him really get into a player, the A&M game on the road when he gave Mickey and Martin a good butt chewing for loafing (they were). I just remember thinking I wish he'd show more of that. Not every minute of every game mind you, but enough to let them know there are consequences.

frick that piece of shite. We have one draftable player and we're supposed to be fricking unbeatable. The hate is fricking ridiculous. We had 5 scholarship players when JJ took over and he already has us in the NCAAT in year three. Beat more top 100 RPI teams then just about anyone, but our coach sucks. Bull shite.

Well some programs win it all with freshmen players. So 3 years is a long time to build a top 64 team.

I would say any team that is going from a situation where it didn't have a full compliment of scholarship players to where it has a full compliment of scholarship players.

Also any team that loses a core group and replaces them with players that have higher ceilings. Jury is still out on LSU's replacements for Mickey and Martin, but the players they are getting are very highly regarded.

define "win"

If this team struggles in the regular season, I'll be mildly concerned about whether or not he'll ever be able to do it, sure.

But I'm due to the nature of the NCAAT I'm not going to put some stupid mandated round number that will define the season's success or failure.

Regardless, its April and we're still talking basketball so JJ must be doing something right.
