re: 260 pounds and runs in upper 4.4's. What Tiger player is this? - boxcar willie
years later when the (improved) athlete goes to the Combine.
improved athlete? yes, bigger and stronger, but faster than senior year in high school? sometimes, but that additional size and strength is going to slow down some also.
The Opening has a financial stake in sho...

re: 260 pounds and runs in upper 4.4's. What Tiger player is this? - boxcar willie
Players gain tons of weight from HS to nfl. It is very plausible to think some are actually slower at the combine.
that's the point I was making. Many football players running speed actually does peak at high school regardless of whether they have exagerated 40 times or not. Man...

re: 260 pounds and runs in upper 4.4's. What Tiger player is this? - boxcar willie
I don't know if anyone already said this or not, (only read up to page 2) but it is not uncommon for a player to actually be faster coming out of high school than 4 years later. Most players are a lot lighter coming out of high school than after 4 years in the strength program. ...

re: Guilbeau says LSU assistants wanted to pass more at Bama - boxcar willie
[link=(http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/product-of-the-system-nfl-already-becoming-a-spread-offense-league)]link[/link] here's an article on CBS sports called 'product of the system; why the NFL is already becoming a spread offense league' it's a pretty good article and you can see a lot of ...

re: Guilbeau says LSU assistants wanted to pass more at Bama - boxcar willie
hey dummie, 3wr with QB in shotgun, spreading the field , is a spread concept. If you read up on NFL offenses you would see that the line is bluring between pure spread offenses and pro style as almost all NFL teams incorporate a lot of spread principles into their offenses these days. Of course LSU...
His name rhymes with piles.
funny how the guy whose responsibility actually is the offense and whose name rhymes with dam always gets a pass on this board. Despite the poor execution and despite all the false starts and delay of game and all the other offense penalties...

re: Lewis Neal sets an #LSU record with a 391 pound power clean. And there's video - boxcar willie
My 13 year old son power cleaned 240lbs today at work outs. Future LSU DT! Lol
At 13, dam strong! that really is quite impressive. If there is any one lift that translates to and is indicative of football strength, it's the power clean. More so than the squat or the dead lift a...
quote:we'll see more spread principles incorporated into our offense over time as we already were doing a lot of that in 2015. (quote): (quote) no we didnt. Literally the only spread principal we used was the zone read. quote:
Ole Rick, you just lost all credibility with me on th...

re: How many of you really don't like the idea of lining up and raming the ball - boxcar willie
Just not the SEC west in the last three years.
it's not about winning or losing, it's about how you played the game. Bama, and a lot of other teams, may kick our arse on the scoreboard, and even in the trenches, but we showed them we aren't pussies and can line up and take a punch...

re: How many of you really don't like the idea of lining up and raming the ball - boxcar willie
I think this year , just like past years, we should be able to line up toe to toe with Bama and just steam roll them If we can beat Bama with it, win the SEC west, and get to the NC game with it, why not? We've dominated the SEC in recent years with it, why change what isn't broken? ...
Like the poster earlier that said 85% is too much but 75% of the time he could guess correctly. Its amazing how all these posters on here are better than every SEC dc in calling out run pass scenarios.
You don't need to guess, just need to read statistics, if it's first or sec...

re: Lewis Neal sets an #LSU record with a 391 pound power clean. And there's video - boxcar willie
That's a lot of weight either way. BAck in high school in the 70's we use to have to do 3 lifts (primarily) for football: 3x5 of power cleans, squats, and bench press. To this day I still do power cleans in my workouts. Rarely see anyone else in the gym doing power cleans or cleans of any sort these...

re: Lewis Neal sets an #LSU record with a 391 pound power clean. And there's video - boxcar willie
what he did would be called a full clean, or Olympic clean, or just a clean. All of which are different from a power clean. There is also such a thing as a hang clean and a hang power clean. ...

re: Lewis Neal sets an #LSU record with a 391 pound power clean. And there's video - boxcar willie
I didn't think that was really a power clean but rather a full olympic style clean. Power clean receives the bar more in a standing position with somewhat less bend of the knees. Still very impressive...
