i don't really consider that airing it out. that was the norm with JR and Flynn

I don't want to be a passing team. LSU and Bama have the perfect offenses IMO. Power running games that wear down opponents. I do think with Mett we will make defenses be more honest in that we will have more of a threat of hurting them with play action. I also think defenses won't be able to do what UGA did to us in the first half and bama did to us in NT game because our passing game will be better.

Besides Newton all of them had playing time the year before correct?

All were first year starters (tebow in 06 only slightly counts)

First year starters win the bcs championship more times than not

Lsu really shouldn't have lost those two games

this is why most Tiger fans annoy me. if we went 12-1 it would be a disappointment? jeez.

Normally I would agree with you here. I was probably one of the few Tiger fans that was satisfied with the team's overall performance last year.

This season, the Tigers have so much working for them and while 12-1 (assuming we don't win the national title) shouldn't be disappointing to most, it will be a disappointment for me.

However, this is exclusive to this season for me.

I stated our overall schedule is less challenging considering we don't have a powerhouse like Oregon or a Geno Smith lead West Virginia.

That is definitely true. Back to the SEC though the only teams I really have no concerns with are Ole Miss and Miss. St. I don't care how bad we beat Auburn and Fla last year it is always tough at their place.

Mett will be the best qb in the SEC this year IMO

The above is the only thing anyone should expect in college football these days.

I think, let me say again, I think Mett will be fine, but who the hell really knows till he faces an SEC D or 2 or 3 or 9???

Anyone 100% bout anything should remember what happened to Okla St just last season in their loss or what happened to LSU in 06 on the road at Aub and Fla.

Chit happens and it can happen bout any week on the road in the SEC.

I agree. I have very high hopes but there is still a possibility he will struggle.

Boy, you guys are setting yourselves up for failure. We go 13-0 last year and most you idiots think it'll be a cake walk through this year and go undefeated again.

Comes with the territory of being a fan.

(Fan is short for fanatic)

It is what it is.

You have to be careful with comparing 2011 to 2012.

The 2011 team produced a lot of turnovers, and a high turnover margin one year does not guaranty the same effect the following.

While I agree that this team is every bit as talented, I am curious about what could happen with a lowered turnover ratio.

Exactly the argument I had with an LSU friend of mine the other day over Email.

LSU had a ridiculously high Turnover ratio last year and you cannot always rely on that. Also, say what you want about the QBs last year....at least they protected the ball. LSU was outgained in 4 games last year but in three of those, they dominated the turnover margin and won them. All it takes is one game to dash national title hopes.

IMO, the 2011 Tiger team vastly overachieved.

I think its insane for any SEC fan base to "expect" to roll through the SEC and win a national title.

I think the SEC as a whole is stronger top to bottom this year so I don't see how you can say LSU has an easier conference schedule? SC, UF, UT, and UGA will all be improved in the East. Miss St and Auburn should improve this year as well.

I don't know if I "EXPECT" to win it all. Only 2 teams will get a chance to play in that game...

I do believe this year's team could be as good as last year's.

But there are a number of things that could derail our team:

1.) Injuries: specifically to a certain position we don't have much depth or experience at... QB, CB or S or WR.

2.) Turnovers: Look how much they helped us against Oregon and 'Bama last year. If we get bit by the turnover bug... it's going to be tough!

3.) Underestimate our schedile. Yes, there's no Oregon or West Virginia. But, we have some challenging road games and many tough teams to play and beat.

4.) The variables:
- We have no idea how METT is really going to play
- Replacing Randle and Mo and BTaylor and Brockers may be harder than we think
- Which teams on our schedule have improved significantly since last year? Auburn? Florida? Arky? Alabama?

I thought we would last year. Came up 4 quarters short. If we don't win this year, it will be a disappointment for me.

Nah. LSU almost won with defense and special teams, despite JJ.

Some years I hope to go 11-2, some years I think we have a great shot at the NC, but never do I "expect" a NC.

That said, I'm the most optimistic about a NC this year than any, although I did expect great things in 2006 and 2007.
