re: Define Success for Will Wade's Tigers Next Season - wheelz007
.500 overall would be a descent season. Maybe sign a Top 100 prospect or 2. Maybe score a basket or two after a called timeout. Maybe teach the team to play a little defense, occasionally. ...

re: What's your Regional rotation after Week 1 of SEC play? - wheelz007
In Regional Play -- You pitch your #2 in Game 1. Win that game and pitch your Ace in the winner's bracket game. Win that game and someone has to beat you twice. In Super Regional Play -- This is easy. You pitch your #1 in Game 1. If you win, you can afford to hang on to your #2 until t...

re: New details on Orgeron's contract - wheelz007
I actually don't think it's that bad. He'll get 3 years, minimum, unless he is a total train wreck. At 3 years we'd be looking at $6 mill and they could spread that out over a few years to soften the blow. This buyout is about the going rate nowadays. ...

re: Manning, Brady, Brees, and Rodgers: A chart based on scoring defense - wheelz007
Brady has benefitted by having a great head coach and a great front office. Many of his teams would likely have won a lot of games, without Brady as the QB. The defensive numbers suggest that. Having said that.... Brady has won 5, hard fought Super Bowls and lost 2, close-game Super Bowls. ...

re: Breakdown of LSU's recruiting class OFF/DEF units - wheelz007
We filled major needs on both sides of the ball -- QB's and 3 good looking Olinemen on the offensive side LB's, Safety, a pass rusher and 2 strongside DE's. We landed 1 stud DT and missed on 2 more. This class would have been STELLAR if we had landed 1 of the DT's and 1 stud RB/WR ...

re: Assessing the context of this class - LSU v Bama - wheelz007
1.) We've got to beat them, and SOON. 2.) Orgeron needs to continue signing stud LB's, DL, OL and QB's. Regardless of where they come from. 3.) Top 5, Top 10 classes filled with stud CB's, Safetys, WR's and RB's are fine, but you win in the trenches and with solid QB play. 4.) Our front 7 ...

re: Ben Roethlisberger contemplating retirement - wheelz007
Right. He has 3 years and about $41 million left on his contract. He'll play another year or two. But, he's made about $158 million in his career. Maybe he's set. ...

re: tOfficial 2017 National Championship Game Prediction Thread - wheelz007
I'm taking Clemson. They're the most motivated team. And they believe they can win. Bama and it's offensive coordinator will end up being one of the story's. I don't see them getting it going in this one. Clemson 31 Bama 20...

re: Eight players named All SEC and we went 7-4 - wheelz007
We lost 4 games. My eyes tell me only 1 was more talented or actually "better" than us - Bama. A few plays here and there and we could easily be 10-1.... or 9-2. Coach O lost 1 game he should have won. Les did this every year, except 2011. Based on his sample size (and losing to Florida) ...

re: Is this committee system better than BCS computers? - wheelz007
The BCS's job was to put the 2 best, most deserving teams in a game against each other to play for the National Championship. They did that. Every year. In most years, there is a clear cut #1 team and several teams deserving to be #2, or #3, etc. The system would not EVER be without controvers...

re: A Full Plate of Debate (Backwards and Forward) - wheelz007
We tried to spread Bama out, but as soon as we did, they blew past our OLine and sacked Etling. Then, when we had our chances to convert on 3rd down, Etling missed a few throws. So, if you can't protect your QB... and when you do, your QB can't hit your open WR... What do you do? Turn...

re: If LSU hires an OC before the bowl game, does he coach in the bowl? - wheelz007
Coach O is going to try to get Lane Kiffin. That's the guy he wants. Kiffin will be coaching Alabama in the playoffs. So no, he won't be around for our bowl prep or game. Unless, he hires Sark. Sark is currently working as a consultant for Bama. Sark could come to practice and assist. But ...

re: Who is the best MLB pitcher you've ever seen? - wheelz007
Peak Pedro for me. He was dominant and made hitters look bad a lot of the time. And he was cocky. Smoltzie was close to Pedro in regards to "stuff", but he wasn't as consistently dominant as Pedro. Maddux was an artist who let the hitters get themselves out a lot by keeping them off balance. ...
