I would honestly take Miles over any current coach right now.

Sure, he's not as intense as some coaches. But you cannot deny his success.
He does a great job. And we now have a coaching staff the players love. Just look at our recruiting rankings. The new hires have already made a huge impact.
I played football in HS and during that time we had two coaches. One was a perfectionist. Got in our face alot and called out our failures. Which is NO problem at all. But my team was always so tight. One mistake and we felt like the world was crashing down. We lost every game but one. I was a second string QB until the starter broke his arm.
I felt huge pressure from that coach. You could compare him to saban. Our successes were miniscule and our failures were monumental.
Enter the miles-like coach. We had fun. A lot of fun. We were serious but we could laugh. Failure wasnt tolerated but we had breathing room. We only lost three games under him.
I have always admired Les Miles. He's a father figure to our guys in tigerland.
This year is gonna be special .

Except your analogy is invalid because Saban wins more than Miles.
Look, I love Les too. He is more intense with his players than he lets off, but he knows how to keep them loose too. I also prefer the more laid back approach personally. You should watch Mike Reilly at Nebraska. He's amazingly calm for a d1 coach. The polar opposite of what Pelinin brought to that program.

How original... Another unprovoked poster feeling the need to start a thread defending Miles.

Comparing your high school coach who won 1 game to saban? You sure they are similar?

I can deny his success the last 3 years

Regardless of the negativity, I'm pro-miles all the way.
And I'm comparing their personalities. Not records. Obviously. But you should probably be thankful that we've been relevant this long. 2011 was Miles. Not Saban.

Great guy, quirky, fun, players love him, all fine and good, but 6-2, 4-4, 3-5 is a trend that needs to be reversed. I'm not saying he needs to be fired or if he even needs to be on the hot seat. All I'm saying is that we need to do better than 8-5 this year. Talent is there, coaching staff is there-if we don't improve, it's on him. I think we'll go 10-2 and I'll still consider him a great coach instead of a man who USED to be a great coach, but 2011 is starting to fade into distant memory. He said it himself: "we're better than 8-5." Bring us back to glory, Les.

Next time we have a kickass season, I do not want to hear one positive thing about Miles from you.

Night crew hates Miles. Should have posted this for the day guys.

His success is beginning to slow down. Since Jimbo left he can't develop a qb. Mettwnberger was developed under Bobo and Richt. Coach Cam just polished him up.

all coaches have their pros and cons no doubt. At the end of the day only one thing matters .... W's..... thats it. Miles is ahead on that for sure but damn he can be frustrating. Better tighten up CLM

If LSU got to play Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and Missouri, the SEC Eastern non-division opponents Cupcake Schedule like some team has gotten, everyone would love Miles.
Sure is easy to make it to Atlanta with a non-divisional schedule like that.
I agree, lack of offense, it's been bad. He has faults. he's not perfect. But if we play at Kentucky instead of Georgia in 2013, we go to Atlanta. The East Schedule has been the difference of us..and them.

Dude he beat our Murray for the starting job at UGA until his legal trouble happened! Cam took somebody with a Cannon and polished him up.
