The final game of that year says different.

I really want to respond to this, but I'll pass because I might get banned. I've been warned

Look what he did with Boykin in his first year as a starting QB

In his first year, Boykin started 9 games and TCU had a losing conference record... in his second year, Boykin started every game and TCU won 4 games. Total.

Correct. Miles squandered 2011 by bringing back JJ and by assuming that Saban wouldn't be able to figure out how to stop the option between November and January.

LSU just needs coaches that can win 8 games a year, so Les Miles is as good as any out there. only 85 more years of winning 8 games a year and LSU will have the greatest streak in the history of sport.

you can't compare one without comparing the other in this case.

one, he was building on what saban left him... there's no way you can convince me that if we had hired miles in 2000 instead of saban that miles could have built up LSU football the way saban did. face it dude, miles has been a glorified baby sitter. also, 2011 had more to do with chavis than it ever did with miles... miles works with the o line, and the defense carried the tigers that year.

but 6-2, 4-4, 3-5 is a trend that needs to be reversed. I'm not saying he needs to be fired or if he even needs to be on the hot seat. All I'm saying is that we need to do better than 8-5 this year. Talent is there, coaching staff is there-if we don't improve, it's on him.

so let me get this straight... are you riding the fence or are you preparing yourself for the transition from Leslie-lover to calling for him to be fired when LSU goes 8-4 again next year?

So the fact that Mike Gundy has doubled the number of 10-win seasons in the history of the OSU program is a testament to the great foundation that Miles left him, right?

Next time we have a kickass season, I do not want to hear one positive thing about Miles from you.

so it doesn't bother you that we've lost four straight to our biggest rival?

His success is beginning to slow down. Since Jimbo left he can't develop a qb. Mettwnberger was developed under Bobo and Richt. Coach Cam just polished him up.

and flynn was a saban recruit that spent his first two years under saban/fisher.

all coaches have their pros and cons no doubt. At the end of the day only one thing matters .... W's..... thats it. Miles is ahead on that for sure but damn he can be frustrating. Better tighten up CLM

seems like we have another one whose love for Leslie is fading... oh no, the honeymoon is over, call a divorce lawyer.

If LSU got to play Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and Missouri, the SEC Eastern non-division opponents Cupcake Schedule like some team has gotten, everyone would love Miles.

our schedule is part of the reason that we recruit as well as we do... recruits want to play against the best to ready themselves for the NFL... so your argument is self defeating.

Out coached in all 4 losses. Saban basically let him make all the mistakes and took advantage of everyone.

OP urban is the best coach in USA he will pass Saban in the next 2-3 years.

urban's top two assistants from last year (tony levine and luke fickell) had more to do with OSU's success last year than urban did... tony is now the head coach at houston and i know everyone is going to jump all over me for this but OSU's offense is going to take a step back this year. and as soon as fickell leaves for a head coaching job (probably some time in the next two to three years, he's only 41), urban will go back to being what he was at florida when saban beat him two times in a row... urban is a really good recruiter and a solid game planner, but his weak spot has always been in game adjustments... at one point in the second quarter of the alabama OSU playoff game last year, it looked like alabama was going to route OSU, but then OSU started making adjustments on both sides of the ball... i will all but guarantee you that those adjustments were made by fickell and levine, not urban.

Adjustments is the sign of a good coach something Miles doesn't have. If he would have made the neccessary adjustments at halftime in that NC game. Maybe Bama still wins, but the game is a lot closer.

your description for Meyers could fit Miles, also.

i love the way everyone always jumps to ten win seasons,... *whispers* most college football teams just started playing 12 game regular season schedules in 2002... miles only had three seasons with a 12 game schedule... gundy has had it every year he's been at oklahoma state... it may surprise you to learn that playing more games, especially when the extra games are against cupcakes, leads to more opportunities to win games.

Also Patterson at TCU has done way more with less talent the past 5 years.

patterson is a gimmick coach.. he was in the mountain west three years ago ffs... and his name rarely comes up as a serious candidate for big jobs during the coaching carousel for good reason.
