re: New 247 CB for Devonta Smith - Laman1978
OBJ was 170 and 5'10". 10 more pounds on a more compact frame. Apples to oranges. Height/weight ratio has a lot to do with it. It's not all about weight alone. ...

re: New 247 CB for Devonta Smith - Laman1978
How exactly am I bashing him? I'm saying he needs to gain a significant amount of weight. I don't believe he'll play as a freshman. How is that perceived as bashing him? He needs to gain weight. That's the bottom line. 6'1" 160 is a stick in the SEC. He'll get hurt at that weight. DeSean Jackson is ...

re: New 247 CB for Devonta Smith - Laman1978
he is a great route runner and dynamic with the ball in his hands after the catch.
At 160 against HS competition. That could change at 200. There's no way a guy can put on 40 lbs quickly and maintain the same agility. Somebody will break him if he doesn't gain at least 25 lbs. He won't...

re: New 247 CB for Devonta Smith - Laman1978
Doesn't that guy only weight like 160? I realize there's room to grow in college, but a WR putting on 40 lbs in a short period of time doesn't sound like it'd be good for his agility or speed. I'm not doubting his potential, but he seems like more of a project player to me. ...

re: Chris Allen on the way? - Laman1978
I'm absolutely ecstatic about having Phillips, Gay and Queen. All three are very talented and have great chemistry off the field which translates to great chemistry on the field. Gaining Allen would be gravy, but I no longer want him at the expense of one (or more) of those three. ...

re: Why have Louisiana FBS schools struggled so much at QB lately? - Laman1978
Define what qualities you want in a QB...
What I want or what I'd accept? I suppose I want what everyone else wants. Strong arm, strong leadership skills, accurate, tall, smart enough to read coverages, stays out of trouble, great pocket awareness, agile enough to avoid the rush......
Last three Tech QBs have averaged more than 390 yards a game. Current year passers averaging 360 yards a game with 32 passing TDs.
The Bulldogs are solid! I like watching that team. ...

re: Guilbeau gets it - Laman1978
Best damn article I've read in weeks. This particularly blew me away; "And Fisher today is a much better candidate than Spurrier then and even Nick Saban when LSU hired him from Michigan State in 1999" How can people continually say this isn't a home run hire? ...

re: If Les takes another coaching job do we still owe buyout? - Laman1978
My understanding is that his new salary would be deducted from from his remaining salary at LSU. For example - if LSU owes him 4.5 and he's paid 3.0 by someone else, then LSU would only be responsible for 1.5. ...

Maybe it is time to fire Sean Payton - Laman1978
I never thought I'd be saying this. It's just grown beyond frustrating to watch our Saints find new ways to lose. I never envisioned questioning his time management, but I guess they hadn't tried losing that way yet. Something has got to be done before Drew runs out of gas....
