At the end of the day only one thing matters .... W's..... thats it. Miles is ahead on that for sure but damn he can be frustrating. Better tighten up CLM
Actually there is a lot more than just winning. A lot more.
It is just a football game.
so you're ok with losing to bama four straight times?

LSU's recent SEC record has been
2011-8-0;
2012-6-2;
2013-5-3;
2014-4-4.
Time to start heading back to the plus side.
you're insane if you think things are going to start changing... the talent gap between LSU and the other SEC west schools has been closing the last three years and it's showing up in our conference record during that time.

it may surprise you to learn that playing more games, especially when the extra games are against cupcakes, leads to more opportunities to win games.
Prior to Mike Gundy, Oklahoma State has had three years since 1950 where they have lost fewer than three games in a season. So does Miles get credit for laying the foundation that saw them do it in 2010 and 2011?

as soon as fickell leaves for a head coaching job (probably some time in the next two to three years, he's only 41), urban will go back to being what he was at florida when saban beat him two times in a row.
A two-time national champion?

I agree.. Miles really needs to revisit his approach to retaining his underclassmen draft risks.

Miles squandered 2011 by bringing back JJ and by assuming that Saban wouldn't be able to figure out how to stop the option between November and January.
Well he had a session with Greg Williams, Saints dc at the time. Remember all the grumping about that? Also, if you think JJ had a bad game in the BCS,for the love of God do you think JL who had the mobility of a statue would have done better? Jesus his performance in the first game was pure deer in the headlights. When the offensive line decided to take the night off in the BCS game it was over. No blocking, "ole" blocking and JJ running for his life because the bama front 7 was living in tht backfield just shows that JL would have been in even deeper trouble than JJ was. Go back and watch the game if you doubt me. It was a total horrorshow on the OL.

Not Briles because he doesn't control the clock and run the ball when he needs to.
briles is another big 12 gimmick coach, like patterson.

Miles stubbornly tried to force the run down Bama's throat the whole nite. And that Bama D was probably the best ever against the run. What he should have done was spread them out and attack with quick passing. Something Lee was good at.

Mettenberger would have been great at Georgia if he hadn't gotten in trouble. He came here and saved Les! fans like you act as if it proves miles staff can develop a qb from day one. Mettenberger learned a lot at UGA. I admit cam polished him, but my original statement stands. Les Miles staff has yet to take a qb as a freshmen and send him to the Pros since Jimbo developed JM, and MF. Facts are facts man
two things... one, let's not forget that mettenberger originally chose georgia over LSU during his recruitment out of high school... we only got him because he was a dumb arse who couldn't control himself after he had a few drinks. also, mettenberger was throwing to two guys who will likely have at least a half dozen pro bowl appearances between the two of them during their NFL playing days. mettenberger will likely never be anything more than a career back up after a few years...so, in the end everyone will point to the receivers that zach had to throw to, and not mettenberger's overwhelming talent.

I doubt even that would have been successful against Dee Milliner, Dre Kirkpatrick, and Mark Barron... three future 1sr Rd picks.
Fact is that we were damn fortunate to beat that team once, and weren't going to fare well against a rested and motivated team.

All those guys are struggling in the NFL right now. Barrons been traded. The only one that is doing something is Kirkpatrick and he is just starting to do something. Just goes to show you how overrated they were! If you don't attack someone you can't discover there weaknesses.
Reuben Randle probably would have torched Kirkpatrick if they had thrown his way just one time.

Randle hasn't exactly been lighting the NFL on fire himself, and he's the only offensive starter from that team to have ANY impact in the pros.
I agree that in a NC game, you use every play and player that you have, but we were fricked as soon as the matchup was created.

What does that have to do with the benching of Jarrett Lee??
Posted on 7/28/15 at 1:10 pm to chilge1
Yeah, I 100% agree with that! Shouldn't have played Bama again. They wanted it more! Just got screwed by the media!

I love goofy less but the NFL talent that he has produced should have produced more wins and more championship opportunities.
I have said for years that LSU has won games on talent alone and not on coaching/development. Les is a great recruiter but he needs to concentrate on the O line, Ed on the D line, and somebody (hopefully Cam can do it) on QB. LSU is special place to be with its culture and tradition - it could just be a bit more special on the winning side.

Again, that was tried in the first game. The result was 2 int and JL slammed because recievers were covered. The BCS game was over the minute the oline, for God knows what reason decided that they were not going to play. They sucked badly from the start of the game to the end. Another poster had several photo breakdowns of plays that had recievers breaking open for what could have been big plays had JJ not been running for his life. I wish I could remember who it was because those play analysis were damn good and showed what kind of shitshow was put on by the entire line that night. It was a damn disgrace.

So I'm sure you were the biggest Miles backer when he was going 4-0 when he first arrived here. Man, the moving goalposts people use to rip on Miles never ceases to amaze me.
