Linebackers suck. It's time people race fact Welter is bad, but he's playing because there isn't much talent at the position.

I honestly didn't see the same game most of the people on this thread watched today. The defense stopped an incredibly potent offense and did so by applying pressure as opposed to staying back in a prevent. Welter was a part of that. Jeez.

Most of you wouldn't knock on him near as much if he were black. Get off his back. He had a solid game.

Wow! You can't find anything positive to say...They held A&M to 10...the LB unit has been mostly disappointing this season...but TODAY??

Welter played a decent ball game! No props?? Barrow looked as good today as he has all season as well. Debo came in and made a sweet play & Kwon put a nice shot on Manziel too...

Laman 1978 is correct...

Go cheer for the team in Alsaka ScRubber! How athletic were you?? Ever run a 4.9 40?? Doubt it!

I've said plenty positive you ditz. I've been praising everything about this effort all day long. The fact is that LSU doesn't have talent at LB this year.

It was the best defensive effort of the year considering the competition. It was the first SEC game the defense looked impressive.

Looking forward to seeing Kwon and Beckwith next year. I think once they mature they'll be a huge upgrade from what weve seen this year

I saw him get in on some contact a few times, but I def saw him get burned many times. How the hell did we hold them to 10? Miracle.

come on tiggerthetooth - there are at least 90% of the ranters on this thread that could walk in and replace Chavis tomorrow - they have a proven record on grading out players.

Hmmmmmmm!!

Just saw on DandyDon.com that Charis Long lauded Welter's play and said he had his best game of the year. Reckon we got us some dissention on here. LOL

BTW, I agree with Chris. D.J. did not look lost out there yesterday at all. I was pleased with his and all of the lb's play. Kudos to them all.

I dare say that a team that holds the likes of Jff to 10 points has someone playing respectable ball at MLB.

I thought Welter did a great job on the rush where he kept Manziel in front of him and tackled him for a loss. That showed decent instincts and he avoided a blocker. Key play at the time.

#31's performance was clearly reflective of a player that had a want and desire to compete against a quality opponent on the field of battle.

I get the point of OP's original question, but some of the negative comments about #31 have reached the ridiculous. People seem to forget that the kid wears our jersey. He gets ragged on like he is some total POS. That is not right.

You are a true blue moron. Just because someone says that players can get better with experience, I.E. Hester and Minter, does not mean said player will become the same caliber.

Reading is fundamental.

Its pretty pathetic when you get a thread to applaud you not even coming close to getting a sack on an unblocked blitz. But, Welter was white again yesterday so thats enough for defensive MVP for most rantards.

Maybe Welter is a player that shows up for all meetings, hits the weight room, does his work,etc...
Just like the coaches tell them to do.
Some of you might want to consider that some of these players you want to see out on the field don't do the things required of them off the field...
