Something is seriously wrong with the officials in SEC. Calls are inconsistent and replay official in LSU vs BAMA just ignored the facts. There must be fines and suspension for REFs for blatantly bad calls.
The way to change it is to fire Silve just like school;s due with the head coach. I would wait until the end of the season.

yea, no question you have to clean house, no one wants to claim credit for having won the SEC on bs calls, not Ala, Fla or LSU. Now we have contoversy over the better team and outcome of games because of fraud or ill practice by sec officiating.

How so exactly? I just don't see how a 12-0 #3 ranked Alabama team would generate so much more revenue than an 11-1 #4 ranked LSU one that it would be worth the risk of scandal. What, a few thousand more people might tune to watch the game? Is that "bargaining power" for a deal that won't be made for another 10 years in any way worth getting caught fixing games? Of course not. I think it's incompetence rather than conspiracy. Unles someone can explain to me in detail how 12-0 Bama generates so much more than 11-1 LSU.

HC, I guess you need to ask who stands to gain from No. 1 playing No. 2 in the SECCG...

Television viewership. Two undefeated teams get more viewers because its an even bigger game. More viewers means that the advertising time can be sold at a higher price. That generates much more money.

College football fans watch college football games. I just can't believe there's a significant amount of people who'd tune in to see 12-0 Bama play Florida, but wouldn't watch 1-1 LSU. And it's certainly not a significant enough number to be worth the potential scandal. The risk is just not worth the reward. At all.

Carl they arent going after CFB fans in Champ games. They want the casual viewer, just as in bowl games.

I know. So you're convinced that there's a huge number of casual fans who would watch #2 Bama play #1 Florida that wouldn't watch #5 LSU play #1 Florida? I ain't buying it. Do I think more people would watch Bama/Florida? Of course. Is that number high enough to be worth cheating to get it? Not even.

yes I am because the public does not really care except that the 2 best teams are p[laying. A prime example is the Celtics Lakers finals from 2 years ago. The two best teams were playing and that series was all over. But when the Spurs and Cavs were playing, not two best in the league, wasnt mentioned much outside of Disney.

Not only should he lose his job, but someone ought to take a close look at the hiring policies within the SEC.

Yes - but it will never happen.
People in positions of authority don't hold themselves accountable anymore. Where have honor and integrity gone?

Just watched ESPN College Football Final. Lou Holtz, et al...have sold their souls to the
i heard that too and couldn't believe he said that. doesn't even have the balls to say what he saw. that just shows you how corrupt it is. or maybe lou thinks he's still coaching and doesn't want to get fined.

devil to get their faces up front. One angle - and correct me if I am wrong...but there was an angle in the game, from the end zone, that clearly showed the man's foot being six inches from the line. Holt's response..."well they reviewed it...". I'll never respect the man again.
Rotten to the core.

ETA: But the major problem has to do with the fact that conferences do have their own refs. There should only be NCAA-FBS refs with more of a random assignment of games.
WHY????
So we can be screwed by a national organizing body that is promoting CFB instead of a regional one promoting the SEC?
No thank you we just need to get our act together and use our power to advocate for a playoff to remove the huge all or nothing pressure of the NC game.
The bigger the organization the bigger the conspracy - See the NBA and their WWE version of bball.

Two comments:
1. Follow the money. (this is true in EVERY walk of life)
2. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. The NCAA has failed to keep a leash on the power mongers in the sport and now we have what we have. Unanswered questions about credibility and manipulation.
Can you imagine the damage done to the sport if this continues unabated? The reason the NCAA has sanctioned (in the past) some teams so heavily is to avoid all perception of impropriety and favoritism. Should the NCAA and SEC continue along this path it will be at great peril to the integrity of the sport and a risk of alienation of the incredibly huge fan base across the country that the SEC has built. Slive needs to nip this in the bud... now!

Should Rogers Redding resign?
Probably not, but that's what might happen if the criticism gets hot enough. Of course, he has nothing to do with the problems. He's just doing as he's told, but he may well be the scapegoat if they end up having to do something. It won't solve the problem, of course, but it may keep the wolves at bay.
The SEC is quite simply the most corrupt organization in sports, and until that changes (which will never happen), it's ridiculously stupid to watch SEC sports.

Exhibit A of what can happen to a sport that stays corrupt.

I think the NCAA should come down on him and Slive and all the SEC Officials with both feet. It is not plausible that these many completely incompetent calls can be made that favor only certain teams, like UF and UA. Yes, LSU has gotten a few in other games, and other teams have, but these pro-A and F refs aren't doing college football any favors.
Imagine with me: An entire conference on probation by the NCAA for improprieties by its officials, sanctioned and protected by this highest SEC brass. While it might hurt LSU, what are bad, biased calls by officials doing us now? If it takes this to clean things up in Birmingham, I say "Do it!"
