Yes, it's time. When the integrity of the game has been compromised repeatedly with poor judgment on the field by game officials, it is time for new leadership starting with Redding.

No, games that are not Florida or Bama vs. have been pretty well called. But games against those 2 have been horrible

it's certainly not a significant enough number to be worth the potential scandal.

There is no potential scandal. Everyone with a brain and one or more eyes knows what's going on, and the SEC has stopped even making a pretense that they're not protecting them, yet it's still business as usual. Nobody cares that the SEC is cheating to protect its undefeated teams, so there's no risk involved. Cheating is a perfectly acceptable way to win in the eyes of the typical fan of college (especially SEC) football.

Yes to both him and Slive. I started a thread about the calls favoring Bama/Florida throughout the year, and asked peoples opinion who they believed would be in the SECCG had the calls been made fairly. But for some strange reason my thread was hi-jacked within 10 seconds of posting it..smh

There should be an investigation. Of course I don't trust the SEC management as far as I can throw them. This issue has been going on for years and I am wondering if it is finally coming to a head. I think we will hear more next weekend during games being broadcast. Should get interesting!!

Probably yes, the calls are a distraction to an otherwise excellent football product

I do think the refereeing changed the outcome of the arky/florida game this year... while it also affected the LSU/Alabama game I think at least the team that played better overall still won

If he does not resign, he should be fired.

Based on what has come out recently, maybe Slive should go as well as some of the officiating personnel.

Honestly, his job should be to seriously evaluate (and in some cases investigate)
quote:

blatantly blown calls. If there are no repercussions for cut-and-dry, reviewed plays being called incorrectly, then yes he should lose his job.

ETA: But the major problem has to do with the fact that conferences do have their own refs. There should only be NCAA-FBS refs with more of a random assignment of games.

This +1000.
The idea of a ref pool will at lest lessen the chance of tampering.

Due to the abundance of blatantly bad calls this season (and other seasons) by SEC Officials, do you believe that Rogers Redding, the head of SEC Officials, should lose his job?

Based on the performance or should I also say non-performance of the officals ....if he where a coach they would be asking for his resignation.

do many of you HONESTLY feel there is a bama/FL conspiracy ? like, seriously ?

Have you seen how bad the calls in question are? It's almost like, which is worse - that there might be a conspiracy to place either an undefeated Bama or undefeated Florida team in the BCS game, or that the calls are as bad (and I'm still a little iffy on 2006 @ Auburn) as they are and many are reaffirmed by the league.

I don't know what to believe, but either alternative is terrible.
